Jim Blum, who shates the instruction with Bill, was unable to attend The class was studying the history of McHenry and somehow the word got around that I am a native. This was a sharp class, attentive and courteous We covered quite a lot of ground, but couldn't hit all the spots in a short time. I invited myself back to sit in with that class: Maybe I'll talk less and listen more the next time. h Dick Rabbitt told Bill Day to ask me where Irish Prairie is located Don't go north. Dick After citing the benefits of McHenry's park system. I ran into a group discussion It went like this: I^et us not be fooled when word is put out that we get services without raising our taxes. And Property" tax is only a small part of city income Money comes from other sources and we pay one way or another. Discussion of parks was not too critical, although some felt too much emphasis has been put on their im portance and priority in city plans The group agreed with my thinking that a well-rounded recreational program can prevent trouble. All agreed that our Director of Parks. Pete Merkel. is efficient and untiring in his efforts.
