Courts May Release Juvenile Information Juvenile courts in Illinois are empowered to release information about juvenile offenders to appropriate school officials and other appropriate third parties. Illinois Attorney General Ty Fahner states in a formal legal opinion rendered at the request of Williamson county State's Attorney Randy Patchett that such a release of information under authorization of the court does not breach the con fidentiality provisions of the act. Fahner's opinion observed "the purpose of the Juvenile Court act is to secure such carewand guidance for minors subject to the jurisdiction of the juvenile courts as will serve the welfare of the minor and the best interests of the com munity". Confidentiality provisions of the act limit public access to the record of minors under age 17 subject to juvenile court proceedings. The school code provides that school officials will keep Juvenile court information separate from the official school record and treat the information as not open to the general public. Fahner noted in his opinion that in'the absence of a court order juvenile probation officers are not authorized to disclose confidential information concerning juvenile of fenders Hold Caucus To Name Delegates For NITC The Northern Illinois tourism council is an nouncing a caucus, for the purpose of nominating and selecting delegates from McHenry county.
