At a special meeting of the 4 City Council, Auditor North noted a decrease of $7,783.76 in the general fund, due to the reduction of public benefits paid off of $7,039.11, plus ihterest. Also the amount of special assessments paid of $2,683.34 plus interest. At the present time the city's total in­ debtedness and judgements are $19,678; public benefits and bonds of $27,013.81; a total indebtedness of $46,686.81. J. W North's bill of $200 for making the audit was ordered paid. About 30 active business women gathered at Niesen's cafe to attend the meeting of the McHenry County Business and Professional Women's club, which has recently been organized in the county. Pistakee Hall for Girls is the name of a new camp for girls who are between the ages of 8 and 12, located on Regner road, It is a small camp with an enrollment limHed to 20 girls. Fifty-one years of loyal membership and service to the Pistakee Yacht club is being recognized when that organization honors Harry Hoff at a dinner-dance. During the more than half century in which he has served the club, his duties' have included commodore, secretary, entertainment committee chairman, sailing official and director. Three attractive young ladies from the McHenry community are among a number enrolled in the Marine day queen contest charm course and are ex­ pected to fill out their entry sheets in the near future. They are Judith Hocin of McCullom Lake, Judy Bauer and Barbara Marticke of McHenry.1 The James McAndrews and the Gail Shannon families spent a few days last week at Rosholt, Wis., where they attended the wedding of the sister of Mrs. McAndrews and Mrs. Shannon. Leaders of the summer recreation program for the local school district an­ nounced that there is still time to register children for several planned field trips. These include the White Sox , ball park, Wrigley field, Brookfield Zoo, Big Foot State park, Lake Geneva and Museum of Science & Industry and Shedd aquarium. Charges have been made against two men in con­ nection with the theft of a v Chicago and North Western Railway locomotive which was taken from the swit­ ching yards in Crystal Lake and rammed into an empty passenger train in Lake Geneva, Wis. The event will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, in Building C on the M c H e n r y c o u n t y fairgrounds, Woodstock. All 4-H classes, including showmanship, will be held. Members may enter more than one class. A small entry fee will be charged per class. Proceeds will go to the McHenry county 4-H foundation and Helping Paws. Ribbons and prizes will be awarded.
