Erica is Heather's niece and is all of nine days younger than her aunt. All the guests who were invited by the Mentzers came and enjoyed the cake and ice cream. One of Heather's favorite gifts was a "yes and no" doll from msm and dad. The black puppy dog that Dottie received on her birth day the day. , before Heather's, has become a favorite addition to the family. He answers to the name of "Patches", and enjoyed Heather's birthday party almost as much as the people guests. BIRTHDAY PARTY The Women of the Moose celebrated birthdays on the 17th of June with a dinner at the best and only restaurant in Lilymoor Present before the dinner was the Governor of the McHenry Lodge, Brian Baker. Local mem bers enjoying the rest of the evening included Junior Regent Lilyann Baker, newly elected Chaplain, Laurel Hertel, Marion Vornkahl and Alyce Kowal. Alyce thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food, from the salad bar through the sirloin tip over noodles and roast pork with dressing, all served family style. A delightful evening was had by the members of a very dedicated organization. SHAW-WAW-NA SEE No, that is not a sneeze. It is the name of the 4-H camp in Kankakee. It's berry time again, and this year the mulberries are more prolific and tastier than ever. Evidence or children's enjoyment can be seen by the faces covered with purple coloring. Does anyone know of recipes using mulberries? There must be a few family ones that could be shared. Such tasty fruit and no way of using it later. TENNESSEE TRIP The, Hibbs family, Katherine and Thomas, with children Lisa"; Michael, Charlie and Tommy, took a /two-week trip to stay with • former residents, Roy and Dorothy Neeley. Sneedville is the name of the town where all the cousins gathered at the swimming pool to cool off. Tem perature ranging around , 100 degrees did not hamper the joy of reunion. The Neeley's send hellos to neighbors and friends. Their daughter Ramona will always have a special place in my memory, as one of the library "painters", along with Diane Pickett. The trip ended with a safe return home to Fritzsche Estates June 19. MORE TENNESSEE Sequatchie, Tenn. was the postmark on the letter received from daughter Maribeth. She is on a week's mission trip with other young people from Faith Presbyterian church. Twelve members loaded into a van and wagon at 6:30 Saturday morning, June 20, after spending the night at the church. Among the young people were Phil and Don Thennes, Jennifer Borchers, Jeril Brandt, Noel Hamilton. Cindy Lemcke, Tim Shine, Dawn Williamson and Colleen Tavierne. All under the watchful eye of youth pastor Rick Tamaraz. The group went out under the auspices of Mountain T O P., a Christian service project for youth in the Cumberland mountains. Maribeth said Camp Glancy reminded her of the summer camp experiences she did not have in high school. Also that Tennessee was very hot. Their first work day was spent in helping a family by scrubbing and paintii tree room hMse, heated by a coal stove." Sharing and expe^endnfe in the lives of people in less affluent areas, will give this group a ... better - - un derstanding of how many 1 and diversified are the needs „ in our country.
