It was also brought up at the meeting about little white bugs that have been spotted on large maple trees. The University of Illinois states that they are beneficial to the tree. STRAY CATS It has been reported that cats are roamiiig the village, especially between Gate 2 and Gate 3 on Park View. They have been sighted climbing into bird feeders and killing birds. She definitely wants to represent the people at the city council meetings and would appreciate hearing from you with any questions or ideas. Have you noticed the beautiful job the city did on cleaning out all the weeds in the creek? This should be a plus in keeping the area almost free of mosquitos. If you feel the mosquito abatement company hasn't sprayed enough in your area you can call Ceil and she will contact them to come out and take care of it. Unforeseen circumstances have caused a delay in dredging of the west beach. Hopefully the problem will be solved Soon so the work can be started this summer. ASSOCIATION NEWS -i The next meeting of the Lakeland Park Property Owners association will be Thursday. July 2. It begins at 8 p.m. in the community house, 1717 Sunset. Bids will be presented for remodeling the community house. A |awyer will also be there to discuss the pros and cons of reorganizing or disban­ ding the association. Feel free to come if you have any ideas you'd like to present. FOURTH OF JULY Summer is really here with the 4th of July just a few days away. I hope everyone has a very safe and happy holiday. Don't forget the fireworks display that takes place at Petersen park on Sunday, July 5. I bet there's going to be alot of partys taking place in Lakeland park that day. BAPTISM Sue and Jeff Jordan's son Benjamin John was baptized Sunday, June 21 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran church, Michael Cominsky and aunt Sue Jordan were honored to be his godparents.
