June traffic fatalities on Illinois highways decreased 12 percent when compared to figures* for June, 1980, ac­ cording to provisional statistics released by the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Illinois State police. Provisional figures show 154 people died as a result of 136 accidents in June. This is a decrease from the 175 provisional fatality total for June 1980 and a decrease of 18.1 percent from the 188 provisional fatality total for June 1979. In all accidents, there were 22 pedestrians killed in 21 accidents, eight pedalcyclists killed in eight accidents, four persons killed in three railroad crossing accidents, and 36 persons killed in 32 accidents involving motorcycles.
