Township Assessed Valuation Increases Hie McHenry Township Road district has received word from the County Clerk's office that the new 1961 assessed valuation of McHenry township has in creased 21 million. In a meeting held between Supervisor Albert A. Adams and Road Commissioner Clarence Regner, it was noted that last year's Road and Bridge tax rate was .141 percent or $14.10 per ten t h o u s a n d a s s e s s e d valuation, while the maximum rate could have been .165 percent, a saving of $39,000 over the possible high figure. This year again, it was decided not to extend the Road and Bridge tax levy, by not using the state multiplier or equalization factor, thus reducing taxes by $40,000. Regner said the Township Road district levies also for cities and villages which receive 50 percent of their assessed valuation in taxes. The amount they receive is about $60,000 of Road and Bridge taxes out of the township levy, Regner concluded. | Twice Told Tales I Extend Deadline For Super 4-H Saturday FIFTY YEARS AGO (Taken from the files of August 6,1981).
