Since this meeting was their super summer salad suppeir, the ladies started their sup>per at 6;30 p.m. an hour before the meeting. Eight ladies were on hand for the delicious suppe r. The salads included two fruit, macaroni, taco, chicken casserole, sauerkraut salad and cream puffs filled with egg salad. Two cakes were served for dessert along with punch, lemonade and coffee. After the meeting, a special prize, which was a l>eautiful owl statue, was won by Pat Anderson. CONDOLENCES One of our longest and dearest senior citizen residents, Mildred Kelley on Park View, passed away recently in New York while vis iting her granddaughter. Mildred was very talented with her hands knitting and crocheting many beautiful itei ns such as baby sweater sets. Our deepest sym­ pathies go to her two dau ghters and her son. Meurer 4814 W. Prairie a venae, McHenry, recent ly reenlisted in the United States Marine corps for a period of four years. Presently, the young man is being trained in the Ac­ counting field. This training, is coming from formal schools and on the job training. He reenlisted at the U.S. Marine corps recruiting station, located at 40 Brinks street in Crystal Lake. CollegeHonors Named To Dean's List At Cornell Wendy Gildemeister, a senior at Cornell college in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, was named to the Dean's List with honors for the second half of the 1980-81 academic year. Miss Gildemeister is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray E. Gildemeister, 5417 Sommerville drive, Wonder Lake. A grade-point average of at least 3.6 on a 4.0 scale is required for this designation. The list is divided into three categories: "highest honors" go to those with a .4.6 average; "high honors" to those with a 3.8 to 3.99 average; while "honors" include averages from 3.6 to 3.79. Of the total 160 students named, 44 are freshmen, 34 are sophomores, 44 are juniors, and 38 are seniors.
