Activities begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 7. The highlight of the day's activities will be the celebrity auction which begins at noon. One can bid for autographed pictures and gifts sent by TV stars, movie favorites, sports celebrities, recording artists and many more. High school singers through age 24 (or a little older) are invited to join Tell The World singing group for the 1981-82 school year. Rehearsals will be held Sunday evenings it 7:30 p.m. and concerts will be presented at churches in the community and surrounding area by the group. Tell The World is spon­ sored by the Evangelical Free church of Wauconda and is directed by Walt Martin of Island Lake. x Young men and women who would like to participate or would like more in­ formation are invited to call Walt or Miriam Martin at 526-8306 for details. Chur­ ches which would like to have the group sing for them are invited to call now to arrange dates for the 1981-82 season. Eye Injuries Up More than 75 eye injuries were reported by ophthalmologists to ihe Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness for the 1981 Fourth of Tuly holiday weekend The previous high was 62 in 1979. Operation C.A.R.E. is a multi-state program to try and reduce the fatalities during the holidays. The Labor day holiday period will start at 6 p.m; Friday, Sept. 4, and con­ tinue through midnight Monday, Sept. 7. during time, the patrols on certain highways will be saturated to try to cut down on any problems that might happen. The interstate, Illinois and U.S. highways involved in District Two are 1-55 U.S. 41; U.S. 12 and Illinois 47.
