An important change in technique has been made during the summer, Mary Ganek, R.N., B.S.N., said today. Mrs. Ganek is director of education at Memorial hospital and can provide further information on the monthly classes, offered the second Tuesday of each month. "During the summer, the Illinois Heart association became the American Heart association, Illinois affiliate, and with the change in name came the updated practice of CPR, based on new research," she said. "The technique is basically the same except for ftfew^hanges which will make CPR even more ef­ ficient. Basic life support, or CPR, requires no special equipment and can be learned by any individual, young or old. CPR can be learned in a four-hour class which consist of discussion and actual practice of the techniques taught by certified in­ structors.
