The amount due can be computed on Form 1120-W, a worksheet for computing corporation estimated tax. The form should not be filed with the IRS, but should be kept in the corporation's records. When the payments are deposited in authorized commercial banks of federal reserve banks, they must be accompanied by the Federal Tax Deposit Form 503. Supplies of Form 1120-W and IRS Publication 542, "Tax Information on Cor porations," are available free by calling the IRS forms-tax information number in the local telephone directory. The third installment of estimated federal tax payments on 1981 individual income is due by Sept. 15, also. This installment should be paid using Declaration Voucher Three found in the Form 1040-ES package, "Declaration of Estimated Tax for Individuals." Taxpayers whose an ticipated income changed during 1981 may have to file an amended declaration. Space is provided in the estimated tax package to compute an amended estimate. For more detailed in formation, the IRS Publication 505, - "Tax Withholding and Estimated Tax," is available free by calling the IRS forms-tax information number in the local telephone directory. IMMUNIZATION SURVEY Local representatives of the Bureau of the Census will conduct a survey in this area during the week of Sept. 14- 18, to determine the extent to which people have been immunized against selected diseases, Stanely D. moore, director of the Bureau's regional office in Chicago, has announced. The survey is conducted throughout the U.S. every year to provide information on im munization against measles, influenza, polio, diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, rubella, and mumps needed for administration of health programs geared to disease prevention. What You Need To Know About Ike All-Savers Certificate Starting October 1, You Can Earn Up To s2,000 Tax-Free Interest! McHENRY SAVINGS AND LOAN'S new ALL-SAVERS CER TIFICATE is authorized by the 1981 federal income tax law that for the first time permits savers to enjoy tax-free interest in come. HIGHLIGHTS OF ALL-SAVERS Minimum Investment $500 Maturity 1 Year From Starting Date Initial Rate 12.61% (annual basis) Maximum Tax-Free Interest $2,000 (Joint Return), $1,000 (Individual Return) Investment Insured by FSLIC Penalty For Early Withdrawal Available Starting October 1 The ALL-SAVERS CERTIFICATE is ideal for those in the middle to upper federal income tax brackets. It is estimated that this would be the 30% or higher tax bracket (federal only, the Illinois tax ruling has not been announced). The initial ALL-SAVERS CERTIFICATE will pay 12.61% interest, which is 70% of the average annual yield on the most recent one-year U.S. Treasury Bill auction. This rate can change once a month, as mandated by the new law, but the rate you start with is fixed for the one-year lifetime of this certificate. The minimum investment in this certificate is $500, but ad ditional funds in any amount can be included. To qualify for the tax-free limit, the maximum deposit, for a joint return, is $15,800; for an individual return, it is $7,930. A recent federal ruling permits savers to convert six-month money market certificates to ALL-SAVERS CERTIFICATES without paying a penalty for early withdrawal, provided the latter do not offer higher interest rates or shorter terms. Early withdrawal of any part of the ALL-SAVERS CERTIFICATE will result in a penalty of three months' interest and loss of its tax-exempt status. Here is a tax table that can give you an idea of what the ALL- SAVERS CERTIFICATE can do for you tax-wise. JOINT TAXABLE INCOME MARGINAL TAX RATE INTEREST RATE YOU HAVE TO RECEIVE TO NET 12.61% AFTER FEDERAL INCOME TAX 29,901-35,200 33% 18.82% 35,201-45,800 39% 20.67% 45,801-60,000 44% 22.52% 60,001-85,600 49% 24.73% 85,601-109,400 50% 25.22% This table is based upon 1982 tax tables for married couples filing a joint U.S. return.
