The children of St. John's are shown participating in this unnsual <- celebration by releasing large numbers of balloons after each Mass. A strong wind was blowing, and the pink, blue, and yellow balloons were quickly dispersed, making a beautiful sight against the clear, blue sky. A card, signed by each child, was attached to the balloon, announcing the completed restoration of St. John's. It also Invited anyone finding a balloon to visit the beautiful, old, landmark church, or return the card to the address listed. A prise is 1 being given to the child whose balloon travels the farthest. Lift-off Sunday is one of the events of the Challenge campaign initiated by the St. John's Parish council to reduce the debt incurred by the restoration project.
