GREENWOOD DAYS 'Twas Greenwood Days at the McHenry County Historical museum in Union on Sunday and we found that many of the local people were out on such a beautiful day to see the folks of Greenwood display all of the old fashioned talents that our parents and grandparents enjoyed. We saw wood chopping, saw sharpening, corn shelling, axe grinding, canning and the old fashioned way of washing clothes with a plunger. There was rug weaving, wool spinning and rug braiding displayed. A spelling beet took place ..with 16 youngsters of the Greenwood school par ticipating for the title Of best speller. If you didn't visit the Historical museum on Sunday you missed hearing Clayton Anderson fiddle his fiddle like he used to do for the dances many years ago. It was good toe tapping music 'cause over in the corner we observed Betty and Randy going a little jig to the fiddle music. 'Twas a beautiful day for viewing all these wonderful sights and gratitude goes to those who donated so much of their time to help make the McHenry County Historical museum a success.
