Li_ Wonder Lake Anne Sowers 653-9549 Plan Autumn Cabaret Dance Asa means to make up the deficit in the fireworks fund, a fun evening is being planned for Saturday, Oct. 10. The evening will begin at 6 p.m. and end at 12 with two varieties of music for all to just listen or to engage in dancing. One band will be playing Country-Western music and the other will be a Rock and Roll band. * Along with the enjoyable music there will be food and beverages. The rustic theme will be carried out in the decorations being provided by Mary Yager and Marilyn Roark. The Jaycees and the Business and Professional Women's club are trying hard to make this event a huge success in order to assure fireworks for next year. If the deficit is not made up, the American Legion feels they will not be able to provide a fireworks display again next July 4. This past year the display came to a cost of $5,000 and they still neeed $1,800 to make up the difference. Come to the dance on Oct. 10 at Christ the King hall and show your support. Advance tickets are available at a slight reduction of the door price and may be obtained by calling 728-0404 CATICETICAL SUNDAY , Sunday, Sept. 20, was declared Caticetical Sunday the Bishop of the Rock- ford Diocese, Rev. Also a late happy birthday to Bunny Berndt, one of our former Miss Wonder Lake Queens, who celebrated her special day on Sept. 17. MISSING ADRESSES Alex Justen, a delivery person for a local florist, mentioned a problem he encountered recently in Wonder Lake. He had a delivery to make on Hancock drive to one of the office buildings. He said it took him several trips up and down the street before he finally located it because there were few addresses on the buildings. This is a problem we are constantly being reminded of by our fire department also. Maybe we could all make a renewed effort to make our addresses more evident on our homes and office buildings. MADDENING! Doesn't it make you angry when you finally decide to buy two new garbage cans and then one is stolen after the garbageman has left them empty. At least the thief could have taken it garbage and all! Doesn't it mke you upset when you hurry to get the kids rounded up, into the car, and take a trip into Wood stock, only to find it starting to rain as you pull up to soccer practice and of course practice has to be cancelled! Doesn't it leave you stunned when a neighbor tells you that the same kids who argue over the smallest thing at home, are a pleasure to have in their home!
