Sunday, May 13, Steve Kunsweiler of Sunnyside drive and Tim Krodel of Poplar Leaf drive rode in the Multiple Sclerosis Bike-a- thon out of Palatine. The boys each rode 50 miles and raised $150 through pledges from friends, relatives and neighbors. The bike-a-thon is a yearly event and is sponsored by WLS Radio. There is a Crystal Lake route also. It is very well advertised and it is hoped next year more will par­ ticipate and follow the example of Steve and Tim. HOSPITAL STAY Bill Mitchell of 4017 Wilmot road has had a brief stay in the McHenry hospital for some tests. I'm happy to report that Bill is feeling much better and will be home by the time this column is out. ANNIVERSARY This week's anniversary couple are Mr. and Mrs. E. Januschik. Their special day is Oct. 2. Congratulations and best wishes for many more happy years together. CUBSCOUTS Pack 454 held its first Pack meeting last Wednesday at the Junior high multi­ purpose room. This is the new meeting place for the Pack. Our Pack has grown and the need for space was imminent. All future Pack meetings will be held there, the next one is on Wed­ nesday, Oct. 28. There will be a pumpkin judging contest and each boy will be able to show off his creation at this meeting. There were a few awards given out to boys who have worked over the summer. Nathan Lee received the rank of Bobcat; Alex Bob- nich received his Wolf badge, and Mark Berlin received a Silver Arrow. The Webelos retired the colors and refreshments were served. GIRL SCOUTS The Cadet Troop 140 from Johnsburg will be taking a canoe trip on Wednesday, Oct 7. Girls will meet at the Junior high school, leaving from there at 3: IS p.m. - this is an hour and a half trip. The group will return to school by 5:30 p.m. Hopi Nieghborhood will hold a Pow Wow on Oct. 12 at Shabonna Hills near Har­ vard. More information to follow later.
