T 0 \ . / v , J . *^House Walk Includes Solar Home Double Christening Held In Robert Byrne Family r HUB. 4 . fUWUfiALKK. • MttUAY, uciimtn <t mni s HOSPITAL NOTES The family of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Byrne^celebrated a double christening Sunday, Sept. 13. Their daughter Pat (Mrs. Clayton Patzke) delivered her second son, Ryan Edward, on May 90. Another daughter Kathy (Mrs. Tim Coarson) gave birth to her first son, Michael Alan on JUly IS. The sacrament of baptism was .administered to the two infants by the Reverend Leo J. Bartel at St. John the Baptist Catholic church, Johnsburg. Mr. and Mrs. Patzke served as godparents to Michael Alan; Dennis Drake and Christine Byrne were godparents for Ryan Ed ward. It was slightly confusing to see one set of parents have their baby christened, then hand the baby to someone else and move in position to become godparents for another baby. However, Father Bartel handled everythii medhodic baby received the proper name and godparents. Following the ceremony, a party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Patzke and linfc in a very ical order and each nejtftoe pictured, built by Chuck and Sharon Little, is truly unique. The homesite blends with the natural flow of the hillside terrain and rough-sawn cedar siding Is an attractive introduction to the rich and natural tones featured inside. The "solar aspect" of the home Is one of its most intriguing features with a 735 foot "collector" area, which provides for most hot water, and appreciably reduces utility costs for heating and cooling the entire area. The absence of doors ai windows on the north side of the house and placement bedrooms, foyer, garage and dining room on the west side provides a thermal buffer from the northwest winter wind. Many of the furniture pieces were constructed by Little, including lamps, end tables, ceiling fixtures, etc., mostly weathered barn wood, and oak and pine logs carried back from pack trips out in the western states. The family room Is highlighted by a fieldstone fireplace with barn wood accents. recorded at Memorial hospital for McHenry county, Woodstock were the births of girls Sept. 28, to Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Wegener of McHenry and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kudla of Wonder Lake; and the Sept. 29 births of a girl to Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Hurst of McHenry and a boy to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Kehl of McHenry.
