Ringwood News Doris Low Koty Christopher Activities For Sunday Children of both Green wood and Ringwood Junior church will be collecting in their respective com munities for UN1CEF this Sunday, Nov. 1. They will meet at the church at 2:30 p.m. in costume. (Moms, be sure the vision is clear). The Youth (U.M.Y.) will have a Bike-a-thon that same day. They will meet at their respective church at 2 p.m. where transportation will be furnished for the bikes; they will be riding in Moraine Hills park. All groups will meet back at the Ringwood church about 4 p.m. for a light supper and the children will be ready to return home by 5 p.m. ROAST BEEF DINNER AND BAZAAR Everyone is reminded that tickets are available for the dinner Nov. 7 at the Ringwood church. They can be purchased from Marge Evans, Althea Walkington, Doris Low and Katy Christopher in our area. Serving times are 5, 6 and 7 p.m., with the bazaar star ting at 3 p.m. RAW HONEY SHORTAGE Art and Katy Christopher took a drive into Wisconsin Sunday to visit her brother and also to buy some raw honey. Much to their sur prise they were unable to get any honey until a later date. The bee keeper informed them that because of all the rain this summer, there was a real shortage of honey. Some of his hives had only enough honey to feed the bees through the winter. His explanation was that the bees cannot get the nectar until the blossoms dry off. The Christophers talked to two other bee keepers since and they both claimed the same sljgrtage for the same reason. VISITORS FROM THESOUTH Friday, Oct. 16, found Earl and Dorothy Betts and daughter Peggy and Ron' Jacques arriving in the area from Mountain Home, Ark. They stayed part of the time with daughter Ester Sprinkle of Woodstock and pcut of the time with son Ed Betts of McHenry. While here, they visited Earl's mom, Anna Betts in the McHenry hospital, besides visiting and seeing other relatives and friends in the area. Peggy and Ron, also of Mountain Home, visited grandma Betts, relatives and friends in the area. Peggy visited with Lil Visconti and she and Ron also visited Ron's mom, who has been in and out of the hospital in Chicago. Of course, I'm sure they all would have liked to see more of their friends but time is limited on short " visits. They all left for home Tuesday, Oct. 20. Hopefully, we'll get to see them next time they make a visit.
