Harry, Bruce, Karen, Nancy, Jeannie, Donna and Joy threw Kel, her husband a surprise retirement party at a local hall in town. This touching event also coin­ cided with Kel and Florence's 35th wedding anniversary. Eighty-two friends and relatives, some from Min­ nesota, Michigan and daughter Karen from Georgia, who hadn't been home in five years, came to share in the party Kel has been a painter most of his life, and finally decided to rest. A delicious buffet was served. Afterward, evefvone dancing tb a local till the wee hours. We are so glad the Hegg's day was so delightful. TOY SALE On Saturday, Ho*. SI. starting at 9 a.m., oaf Ideal tavern and restaurant up at Gate 6 will be boating a toy sale. Everyone is welcome to come over and join Hi on the bargains. BOARD MEETING The first village meeting was held Tuesdaf Nov. 10 at the beach' Many of you may have noticed all the work that is going on down at the hall. Hie roof is being ft$Aihed and a new fire doof ift being installed. Wait until you see the inside. It has been freshly painted and looks great. Some walls were also replaced. The beach house was in great need of an overhaul, and it is now being done. There is a desk that the village wants to give aWay. If anyone is interested, please contact Lois Patenti at 385-3140. Board meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each and every month. Be an involved citixen and see how the village works. The next meeting will be on Nov. 24. BIRTHDAYS "'Happy Birthday" wishes go this week to Carol Dina on Nov. 18; Richard Wolfs special day is Nov. 20; Bee Brown's happy day is Nov. 21 and Paul Bacon celebrates on Nov 23.
