Jim had gone to Texas for a weekend visit with his family and his wife Kathy was unable to go with him due to her work. While out hunting, he had a fatal heart attack. The sympathy of friends goes to Kathy and the family, at this tragic end to a happy vacation for Jim. Jim had been a member of our volunteer fire depart­ ment, having been past secretary-treasurer and a past lieutenant. The flag at the station has been at half mast and draped in remembrance of his service. Jim was buried in his home state of Texas, where he was born and raised. The memory of his happy smile, his generous nature, his dedication, will always stay with us. Kathy has asked that memorials to Jim be sent to the McHenry Rescue squad. So another young man in our community is taken from us with no warning. The pain continues for the Baker and Hibbs families, and is now added to by the Kelley's. In time, the pain becomes less acute, but the loss cannot be regained. LAKEMOOR REPORT The Insurance Study for Flood Control meeting was cancelled due to insufficient funds. The holiday garbage pickup dates for village residents will be on the Mondays following Christmas and New Years day. SUCCESSFUL SALE Laura Meyers reports a profitable bake and craft sale held during November, sponsored by the Lilymoor association. Many people gave of tehir time, money and talent, and their efforts are appreciated. There will be another craft-bake sale at a local bank on Dec. 12. Call Kathy Goodwin for in­ formation and donations. LILYMOOR NEWS A special Christmas party for all the children of Lilymoor is being planned. Surprises, prizes, refresh­ ments, plus Santa Claus, will be found at the party. Every mother attending will also receive a special treat. Watch for more information 385-4934 on this exciting fun-filled event. GET WELL WISHES Edna Garbacz, Lakemoor trustee, spent Thanksgiving in the Woodstock Memorial hospital. She had been un­ dergoing tests, and may have to have surgery. Muriel Sovsky also of Lakemoor, is recuperating from a hospital stay. Wishes for good health go to all who are ailing. HAPPY DAYS Dec. 5 will be a special day in the Hal Vornkahl household, where son Donald's birthday will be celebrated. Wishes go to Edna Garbacz that her special day, Dec. 8, will find her home from the hospital and feeling much better. Nine candles will be lit on Michael Kunz's cake on the 8th. Sister Heidi may not help much with blowing them out, but she'll help with the eating. "Happy Anniversary" wishes go to Irene and Chuck Thornton of Lilymoor. Their wedding date is Dec. 5. HEARTACHE, AGAIN Willard Mix, seriously ill in the McHenry hospital, had not been told of the death of his grandson-in-law, James Garman, on Nov. 9. Now he, too, is with the Lord, leaving his devoted family with another separation. Mr. Mix died Nov. 24. Surviving are his children Gloria Cassell, Janet Peterson and William Mix, and their families. He and his wife Florence, who died in May 1980, had been residents of Lakemoor for many eyars. In 1961, during the early time of the village hisotry, Willard served as a trustee under President McDermott. His dedication in maintaining the village hall for years, has 'eft many happy memories to Lakemoorites. He has gone now, to be with his other loved ones who have been waiting for him. Separation here is painful, but in all things we must give thanks.
