The bride elect was a 1978 graduate of McHenry Community high school and is currently employed as a legal secretary in Chicago. The prospective bridegroom graduated from the same high school in 1977 and is presently working in Arlington Heights. A September, 1982 wedding is planned. LORI VOGT AND WILLIAM BOWIE JUNE WEDDING - Mr. and Mrs. Allan Vogt of Wonder Lake announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Lori Lynn, to William B. Bowie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Bowie of Rockford and the late Dorothy Bowie. DECEMBER 12 Town and Country Newcomers club-Les Porras-Weingart Plan Carribean Honeymoon Prepare Christmas A Carribean cruise was in the honeymoon plans of newly married Mr. and Mrs. Michael Weingart, following their Nov. 21 wedding in The Church of St. Mary of the Assumption, McHenry. Father Quinlin officiated at the 3 p.m. nuptials and special music was provided by vocalist Debbie Titus. The bride is the former Debra Ann Porras, daughter of Ronald and Carole Porras, 25875 Midlothian road. John and Fran Weingart, Weingart road, McHenry, are the parents of the bridegroom. ' The bride wore a white lace wedding gown, com­ plimented with a picture hat and fingertip veil. Diane Hummer of Texas attended the bride as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Laura Porras and Stacy Starwalt, both of Mundelein, 111., Alison Hutson of Buffalo Grove, 111.; and Wendy Weingart of McHenry. Flower girls were' Erin O'Brien of McHenry and Mandy Porras of Liber- tyville, 111. Attendants were attired in deep blue dresses, styled with a lace bodice. Robert Weingart handled the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Jeff Roberts, Dick Huemann, Jim O'Brien and A1 Rein- boldt, all of McHenry. The mother of the bride chose a light blue chiffon, floor length dress. A medium .blue floor length dress was the choice of the groom's mother. A reception was held for 300 friends and relatives at the Johnsburg Community club. The new Mrs. Weingart is employed by the Northern Illinois Gas company and her husband works for Kemper Insurance. They will reside in their own home in McHenry. MCACE Sponsors Film Mr. Mistletoe, in the person of Tom Birmingham, looks through his book of Christmas Story Book Ball characters as members of the men's ensemble of the McHenry Choral club look on. STAFF PHOTO-ANTHONY OLIVER MCACE (McHenry County Childbirth Educators) are sponsoring a showing of the film "Nan's Class" made by the American Society for Psychoprophylaxis in Ob­ stetrics, Thursday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m., at the McHenry Public Library, 1011 N. Green street. The movie portrays the labors and deliveries of five couples and a single parent using the Lamaze method. It depicts some of the newest approaches to childbirth. Early pregnancy classes, Lamaze classes and Cesarean childbirth classes are offered by ASPO cer­ tified instructors. Wonder Lake Seniors Schedule Next Meeting The next meeting of the Wonder Lake Senior Citizens club is scheduled to be held Monday, Dec. 7. At that time, members will have the last opportunity to purchase tickets for the Christmas party. Chairman of the event, Charles Smith, announced that plans have been com­ pleted and the festive oc­ casion will take place at Christ the King church hall, Monday, Dec. 21. Grace Smith and Bill Lamont were called upon to give the history of the beginning of the club, which was organized in October, 1975. Ms. Smith gave a rundown of the first meeting, held at her home, where 60 people came to prove that they wanted to meet regularly to enjoy the fellowship of each other's company. Lamont became the first president; Ms. Smith was secretary; and the first official meeting was in the Greenwood school, Nov. 3, 1975. The club has come a long way since that time, with bus trips and various projects, the most important being the Blood Pressure program. Blood pressures are taken by capable, trained people, the third Monday of each month, for all Wonder Lake senior citizens. Lamont and Ms. Smith were presented with plaques for services rendered and made honorary members. Some members brought craft items to sell; others donated canned goods or money; and all proceeds went to help needy families for Thanksgiving. On completion of the business session, the meeting was adjourned, refreshments were served and the afternoon was spent by playing favorite card games. SLATE RAP SESSION The Phoenix group for divorced, separated and remarried Catholics will meet Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 7:30 p.m., in St. Thomas the Apostle (new school) corner of King and Pierson streets in Crystal Lake. A rap session will be this month's activity. "SANTA'S WORKSHOP" The Woodstock Jayceettes "Santa's Workshop" will be held Saturday, Dec. 5, at the VFW hall from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. All children are invited to come and visit with Santa, shop for their family and just etijoy all the festivities. The items on sale in the store are priced from ten cents to foUr dollars and each child will be personally helped to shop. POTLUCK LUNCHEON St. Patrick's Ladies Guild will hold its Christmas Potluck Luncheon at 12:30 p.m.. Monday, Dec. 7, in the church hall. Members at­ tending are asked to bring a dish to pass. Wanda Zima and Kathryn Manfredi are serving as luncheon hostesses. CHRISTMAS PARTY Parents Without Partners, Chapter No. 189 will meet for a family Christmas party at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at the Lake-in-the Hills Com­ munity building, 1212 Crystal Lake road.
