DIVORCES t Judgments for dissolution of marriage were recently granted in 19th Judicial Circuit Court, Woodstock, to: Marilyn J. Dubovik and Alex F. Dubovik; Robert G. Baker and Marilyn A. Paul BIRTHS Henry and Glenda Wiley, 3620 McCullom Lake road, McHenry, announce the birth of their fifth child on Dec. 2. Wayne Randolph entered the world at Memorial hospital for McHenry county, Woodstock weighing 9 lbs. 12 oz. Andrew Monas of Westmont, 111. is the maternal grand father and Mrs. Patricia Hauskins of Sierra Vista, Ariz, is the paternal grand mother. Mr. and Mrs. An drew Monas of Florida are the great-grandparents. John and Jeanne Kuziel, 5013 E. Lake Shore, Wonder Lake, became parents of their second daughter Nov. 21. Kristi Renee was born at Memorial hospital for McHenry county, Woodstock and weighed 8 lbs. 8 oz. She was eagerly awaited at home by her sister Michelle, age five. Maternal grand parents are John and Agnes Mason of Wonder Lake, 111. John and Ann Kuziel of Grandma Sez . . . In me ol' rockin' chair, reminiscin' on years past n gone, along wi' me many friends an' relatives, a thankful prayer comes from me heart, that this ol' lady survives another holiday season, another chance t' enjoy family, an' good friends, an' send greetin's t' one an' all, f'r a very happy season. Thanksgivin' has joined those o' th' past, an' Christmas is about t' descend upon th' world, wi' all th' blessed love an' good wishes we would hope would last f'rever, an' bring peace t' this besieged sphere. Life seemed better, long ago, when most folks didn' have as much o' th' bounties this modern society offers. Folks worked off their anxieties by th' sweat o' their brows, an' th' social structure didn't have t' pervide employment f'r both members o' th' family. T'day, menial tasks seem demeanin't' some, an' they feel th need t' express 'emselves in more satisfyin' ways, addin' t' th' opulence o' th' family pocket-book. Th' mind puzzles o'er th' fact that, along wi' their parents, younguns don't realize how much they have, th' luxuries they enjoy, an' take it all f'r granted We wonder what'd happen if it was all taken away, an' hunger was a daily ex perience. It happenedd not so long ago, as many o' us recall. We wonder how many were truly thankful, this past Thanksgivin' day. Folks go through th' motions, but me thinks there's a great many who accept th' bounties as a matter o' fact, an' th' special day is "just another holiday". Now, th' word is out, that th' "tube" has done irreparable damge t' young minds, as this granny has harked upon, these many years. We know that it takes a lot o' doin' t' pervide TV viewin', 24 hours a day, 'r less, but writers an' producers see th' dollar-sign too eagerly, an' in doin' their thing, as th' modern term describes it, ha' put, on th' air, unhealthy programs. This party seems t' notice a slight change, f'r th' better, but th* damage has been done, an' th' thing that baffles me mind, is that parents didn't seem t' be aware. As th' Christmas ap proaches, me hope is that parents'll use frugality, when doin' th' gift buyin', an' try t' git back t' a more normal way o' life Grandma Radtke Locol Photographers Speak At Conventions Cliff G Marianne Nies, Owners of Photography by Nies in McHenry are shown with their plaques and speaking certificates received in appreciation from the Professional Photographers of Indiana where they gave an all-day workshop seminar. The subject of the seminar was "Photographic Copy & Restoration" for which Cliff & Marianne are known throughout their professional organizations as masters. The talk was given in Noshville, Indiana and was followed by an invitation for the following week-end from the Associated Professional Photographers of Illinois in Decatur. They have also recently received an invitation from the Professional Photographers of America to speak in Las Vegas, Nevada at the national convention on the subject of copy ond restoration of photographs. This convention is attended by professional photographers from all parts of the United States as well as Canada, South America ond Europe. It's an honor to be asked to speak at these conventions because the people who ore asked must have their names put before o jury and all qualifications of the candidates are thoroughly reviewed. Cliff and Marianne have approximately 15 years of experience in this field with Cliff han dling the copying, printing and some artwork with Marianne doing the final artwork and all oils on the finished portraits. We are remin ded by them that their cut-off dote for copy and restoration work must be in the studio by Dec. 8th to guarantee delivery for Christmas.
