The former Elizabeth Mary Thelen and Ronald Lee Eddington exchanged promises of marriage Oct. 17, at St. John the Baptist Catholic church, Johnsburg, during a 3 p.m. nuptial conducted by Father Matt Rauen. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold P. Thelen, 5720 N. Wilmot road, McHenry. Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Eddington, 1601 E. Jackson street, Macomb, 111. are the parents of the bridegroom. A reception was held for 165 friends and relatives at the Johnsburg Community club. The new Mrs. Eddington graduated from Marian Central Catholic high school, received a legal secretary degree from Robert Morris college, Carthage and is presently a legal secretary at Jacobs, Williams & Montgomery, Ltd., Chicago. Her husband is a graduate of Plymouth high school, Plymouth, 111., attended Quincy Technical school and is currently employed at Precision Twist Drill, Crystal Lake. The get- together will begin with a potluck luncheon and the Ruth circle will be hostesses. A musical program is scheduled, conducted by William Toalson, and all women of the church are urged to attend. At the November general meeting, which took place in the evening, the Reverend Thomas Lowery gave a most interesting, inspiring and entertaining program on "The Women of the Bible". Women's Club Ok's By-Laws When the Lakeland Park Women's club held its meeting recently, at the community house, by-laws were approved and will be Paul David Baptized At Paul David Micheletto, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Micheletto of Hinsdale, 111. was recently christened at The Church of St. Mary of the Assumption, McHenry. The infant was attired in a gown which had been made by his great-grandmother, Mrs. John R. Schmitt, and worn by his mother, the former Jane Frost, and his brother Jon. Godparents were Mrs. Lynne Letzter Dritlein of Des Plaines, 111. and his uncle, James Frost of La Grange Park, 111. Following the ceremony, a Micheletto St. Mary's reception was held at the home of the celebrant's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Frost. Three Pledge To Sorority Arrange Seniors Tours Clem Umbdenstock, Tour chairperson has arranged two tours for the McHenry Senior Citizens club. The first one is scheduled at the Marriott in Lin colnshire to see the play, "They're Playing Our Song", Saturday, Jan. 9. The bus will leave at 2:30 p.m., dinner will be served at 4 p.m. and the play commences at 6 p.m. The second trip will be to the Fireside in Wisconsin on Feb. 18, to attend the per formance of the Neil Simon play, "Plaza Suite". This will also be a luncheon tour and the bus will depart from the Market Place at 10 a.m. Tickets for both of these outings may be purchased from Ruth Fradell at the next meeting of the club on Dec. 14. Cathy Nolan, Legislation c h a i r m a n , i n t r o d u c e d Associate Judge Susan Fayette Hutchinson of the McHenry County Circuit Court. Judge Hutchinson held a captive audience of over 50 persons as she related points of interest apropos to today's woman. State Representative Jill Zwick explained the redistricting of the new 63rd legislative district for people living in McHenry. Ms. Zwick then entertained a question-answer session concerning political issues. Avis Gans reported that the Christmas gifts gathered by various members of the club will be distributed this week to the Royal Terrace and Valley Hi nursing homes. District VI council of B.P.W. will enjoy a Christmas get-together at Jardine's restaurant in Belvidere Dec. 17. All members are welcome to the dinner party and gift ex change. Induction of new members for the club will be con ducted in January. Anyone interested may contact Barbara Walters, chairman of the Membership com mittee. A possible date and hour was discussed for an orientation seminar for new members. It was announced that the Legislation committee will present an action course in Practical Politics in February. HOSPITAL NOTES RECIPE By Sank Anne Sheridan With cool weather, my thoughts always turn to tasty soups and bread. Here are two recipes worth trying. Ham & Pea Soup 1 cooked ham bone 1 c dried split green peas 2 t salt '/« t pepper 1 medium onion, sliced V/i c slivered cooked ham In large pot, place ham bone, 3 quarts water, peas, salt, pepper and onion; cover. Heat to boiling; sim mer over low heat 2Vi to 3 hours. Cut any bits of ham from bone; add to soup with slivered cooked ham. Heat. Makes 8 generous servings. Mexican Corn Bread lVi c yellow cornmeal 2 eggs Vi c corn oil 3 t baking powder 1 t salt 1 c sour cream 1 c cream style corn 3 green chili peppers, chopped c grated sharp cheese Mix first eight ingredi ents. Pour half into a hot greased pan. Cover with half of cheese. Add over half of mixture and top with remain ing cheese. Bake at 350 de grees for 35-40 minutes. December being Social Services month, chairman Lucille Gariffi and her co workers presented a mar velous luncheon and a surprise for iall present following the meeting. Enrollment of three new members took place; Mary Rivera and Kathy Hayhurst, sponsored by Marylou Barry and Jeannie McDonald, sponsored by Janet Siemen. Pro-tem was Betty Riemer. The Special award went to Mary Kuemmel; attendance award went to Jackie Mazurek and Marylou Barry; there were no December birthday girls present; and Pat Knapik presented an escort pin to Evelyn Tanderrick. A wall case has been made available to members of the club, displaying samples of Moose jewelry and various items for purchase. Everyone is urged to stop in and view it.
