She is survived by her husband L.B. Hamlin and son Arthur Graham all of Antlers, Okla.; sisters Carrie Fisher and Florence Dunanant of Florida, Marianne Hummel, Calif.; Daisy Winters, Ind.; Mable Zawislak, McHenry; brother Clarence Pence, Ohio; Claude, Clyde and Clifford Pence, Kentucky. Funeral services were conducted in Antlers, Nov. 23 with services by the Rev. Jim D. Gillum. In his eulogy, he spoke of Lucy Mae in a prayer I thought was so beautiful it should be shared. To be so loved by one's friends, neighbors and family is very heart warming. It goes as follows: There's a vacancy on our street today, a beautiful flower has faded away; But a rose has blossomed in heaven above where there's peace and joy, and lots of pure love. She was a friend, a sister, a mother, a wife-in this life she knew sorrow, illness and strife; And the life she shares now has been made complete, but we'll all miss Lucy, the 'flower' on our street. But residents of the village are welcome to come and see the new hall. The hall building fund got under way a few years back when the village held a Snowmobile Derby and proceeds from the derby went into the fund. A plaque is being made to com memorate the event. The names of all those who participated in the derby will be hung in the hall upon its completion. Commercial artist Mike Cajthamel is doing the plaque; Mike is also the one who did the new village sign on Wilmot road, Welcoming you to the village. FROM FLORIDA Former resident of Pistakee Terrace JoAnn Britt called from her home in Florida to comment on the handling of the burglary that happened last spring in the home she owns in the terrace. At the time of the theft she was in Florida and value of the items taken ran quite high. She is pleased that the McHenry County Sheriff's Dept. apprehended the thieves. Her comment was that she was pleased that the detectives were able to capture the juveniles responsible, but that she was not at all pleased with the sentences given. She is still awaiting return of the items, which were held as evidence. WILDCAT BOOSTERS & MUSIC BOOSTERS The Booster club for Johnsburg Junior high did so well in its cheese and sausage sale a while back that they are now picking out uniforms for the band. For everyday driving, safety belts keep you comfortable and alert, and in emergencies they help avoid serious consequences by keeping you in the driver's seat and in control of the car. If an accident occurs, safety belts increase your chances of staying alive and unhurt because (1) you stay inside the car, where you are two to five times safer, and (2) you are spared the "second collision" between Safety belts should be worn by all vehicle oc cupants. .Convince your passengers to wear them, as they are the best insurance. Lap belts and shoulder belts combined allow for better control of the car to prevent collisions or to ride through them more safely. Lap belts reduce impact force and keep the driver and passengers in the car, where they are safer, if there is a collision. Never wear the shoulder belt alone. Always wear the lap belt with the shoulder belt. Shoulder belts are especially effective in keeping the head and chest from hitting the steering wheel or instrument panel. about the Secretary of State's office, please feel free to use our toll-free telephone number (800-252- 8960). It has been ever since some distant relatives (my moth er's cousin and family) moved to town. They were a service family and had spent the last ten years living overseas. Two teenagers in the family--a boy and a girl--are about my age. We attend the same school. The problem is that one or both of them follow me everywhere 1 go. I have introduced them to all of my friends, yet they have made no friends of their own. They don't seem to make an effort to get along with people. He is an outrageous flirt and she is,a know-it-all. When 1 am with some of my friends and one of them shows up, my friends just drift away. Some times I feel like telling them to "buzz off," but 1 can't do it. What can 1 do? Cousin Dear Cousin: Sit down with your two cous ins and just lay it on the line. You need not be rude and they should not be embarrassed or hurt if you simply tell it like it is. They may irritate others simply because they think they must be heard in some way to be accepted.
