Morris to proclaim Dec. 6 through Dec. 12 as Winter Preparedness week. Keep calm if you get in trouble. If your car breaks down during a storm, or if you become stalled or lost, don't panic. If you are on a well-traveled road, show a trouble signal. Set your directional lights to flashing, raise the hood of your car, or hang a cloth from the radio aerial or car window. Exercise by clapping hands and moving arms and legs vigorously from time to Events At Church N* The Wonder Lake Bible church has begun the Christmas season of ac tivities. The Christmas tree is up and the church is decorated for the season. The first project, the gift boxes for the residents of Valley Hi, was launched ^Sunday morning. Boxes f were distributed to those who desired them, along i/with a list of items to be "^inserted into them. The t boxes will be colorfully ^ wrapped and returned to the church. Then, on Dec. 20, \ those who visit Valley Hi will deliver them. Friday, Dec. 11, the AWANA clubs will be having a special guest for the boys and girls and their parents. Frank O'Neil, a p r e s t i d i g i t a t o r , e x traordinaire (magician), will entertain with some tricks and give a talk. The AWANA clubs meet at 7 p.m. at Parkland school. Sunday, Dec. 13, is the ; night for the choir can- \ dlelight service. There will C be songs and carols of the season, and a mini-cantata, "Wonderful", by Haldor Lillenas. The Sunday School children will present their program, "The Light of Christmas", at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20. A Christmas candlelight service, entitled, "God Keeps His Promises!" with devotional thoughts, poems, and congregational singing of the beloved carols of the season will be at 7:30 p.m. Wenesday, Dec. 23. The holiday season will be drawn to a close Thursday, Dec. 31, with the annual Watch Night activities from 9 p.m. until midnight. Pastor Richard N. Wright and the members of the congregation invite the people of the community to share in the joy of the season by participating with them at any of the services. Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m., with bus service available on both sides of the lake. Morning worship is at 10:50 a.m.,y-and Bible fellowship hour is at 6 p.m. The Wonder Lake Bible church is located at the north end of Wonder Lake at 7501 Howe road. State Comptroller Roland Burris said that total General funds revenues for the first five months of FY 1982 were $3,117 billion, while total expenditures for the period were $3,194 billion, $77 million more than the State took in. Candidates Sought For Wool Queen The DeKalb County Lamb and Wool Producers are seeking candidates for the 1982 Lamb and Wool queen contest. The new queen will be crowned at the annual meeting of the association Jan. 23. Since the Lamb and Wool Producers represent not only DeKalb, but surrounding counties, en tries are encouraged from all interested girls in this given area. Qualifications include ages 14-21 (as of Jan. 1, 1982), from families with a specific interest in sheep, and a definite willingness to represent the organization in various lamb and wool p r o m o t i o n a l e v e n t s throughout the year. The successful entrant will receive numerous and substantial gifts appropriate to the position.
