On The Sidelines By Dirk RabH'W Coach Gary Satur M«ly Soboak's "Rassling Warrior®" defeated -ova bat Friday niaht but fell to stdvMm -- Grove last Friday iturday to brins|their rec •son. The Warriors ai with a healthy squad are ̂ it but fell to Stevenson to three and three for the it tough this season, and their mark known to the team last week at the Hoffman Estates Invitational but some individual school records were broken. The likeable coach is having a problem with numbers this season, and it will be almost impossible to win a dual meet with so few swimmers. Too baa more boys are not interested in this >rt. One would think that with swimming at Knox Park _ the summer, there would be more interest in the •port. The Warrior fans who attended the games at Cary Grove and Grant last weekend were totally of the conduct of the student cheering section. Their conduct was inexcusable. A few of the students marched into the gym wearing T-shirts, with printing on the back with words that would be called "gutter language". There is no Sice for this type of conduct in high school athletics. At ry the game had to be stopped because one of our clowns had a whistle, which interupted play. Finally five of them were escorted out otthe gym by the police for conduct unbecoming a specatator at a game. At Cary and again at Grant, school officials from Cary and Grant made the students either put on a coat, or remove their T-shirt. Holding the students, and having the parents come to pick them up, would have been the ideal solution to the problem. I would like to make a suggestion to these students, and there are only a few, that tonight you stay away from the Kme. Go to the movies, or joyriding, but better yet get a ok on "How to Behave in in Public,". It might amaze you in what you could learn. You have given the team, the fans, the school, and most of all the community a bad name. We don't need this type of behavior at high school athletic events, and your admission fee is not worth the trouble you cause. I suggest that some of you parents slip away some Friday night when the Warriors are on the road, and watch how your children act out in public. I'll guarantee you, you won't be Droud of them. With the Blue Streaks on tap for Tuesday night, I thought I would go back to the 1953-54 season of the Warriors for a game that will be well remembered by those taking part. The Warriors won a North Suburban battle 50-43, and wound up seven and seven in conference play that season. McHENRY VS. WOODSTOCK 1953-54 SEASON McHenry fg ft pf tp Comstock 2 2 2 6 F.
