Since 1977, NI-Gas has been "testing" these structures for heat loss with a thermographic camera. LEMAR Edward R. Lemar has been named director of the newly created Store Plan­ ning and Modernization depart rqent of the Louis Zahn Drug company, Melrose Park, it has been announced. Prior to joining Zahn, Lemar. 35. was a regional store planning consultant for seven years for the Streater Store Fixtures company, Albert Lea, Minn. Previous to that, Lemar was em­ ployed by the Osco Drug company, Oak Brook, where he Was responsible for planning and store layout for more than 150 stores. Lemar and his wife, Star Ann, are the parents of a son and a daughter. They reside in McHenry. v Ray Bujak Inducted In Presidents' Club Area Hiring Outlook Declines , Employers in the McHenry area expect a sharp decline in hiring ac­ tivity for the next three months, according to a quarterly survey conducted by Manpower, Inc., the world's largest temporary service firm. Chuck Bartels, owner of Manpower's McHenry of­ fice, said, "Overall, 10 percent of the area em­ ployers polled plan to hire additional workers during the first quarter (January, February, March), up from the 7 percent with similar intentions one year ago. However, another 30 percent expect staff reductions, and 60 percent plan no change in staff levels." In a similar survey con­ ducted one year ago at this time, 13 percent expected Staff reductions, percent predicted ty>,<;hange in staff levels and 3 percent were unsure of their hiring plans. Local job opportunities are predicted by services sector employers. Reductions are expected by durable goods manufacturers, wholesale and retail trade merchants and employers in con­ struction. The outlook is generally stable in other sectors of employment. McHenry area results are less optimistic than those reported both nationally and regionally. A sharp deterioration in hiring plans for the first quarter of 1982 is predicted by over 10,000 U.S. business firms polled by Manpower, Inc. Overall, 15 percent of employers polled plan to increase staff size in the next three* months while 18 percent ].j expect staff reductions! Regionally, the South reports the strongest hiring expectations with Northeast, West and Midwest survey results more slow-paced. Construction employers report the least optimistic survey results of any sector for the first quarter with nearly three times as many employers expecting to reduce staff as plan to hire additional workers. Thirteen percent of employers polled plan to increase the number of workers while 35 percent expect to decrease the number of workers on their staff. Another 48 percent plan no changes in their employment levels and 4 percent are unsure of their hiring plans. In a similar survey con­ ducted one year ago, 19 percent of employers polled planned to increase staff size. 29 percent expected reductions, 49 percent planned no changes and 3 percent were unsure of their plans. In ceremonies held recently at the Holiday Inn in Peoria, Ray Bujak was honored as an inductee into the Presidents' club of Heights Finance cor­ poration. Bujak is the district manager for 12 Heights Finance offices in Illinois and Iowa. President of the company, Kenneth E. Hoerr, reviewed the qualifications for membership in the elite company group, saying that it is the leadership, ingenuity, innovation, imagination and integrity recognized in an employee that qualifies that person as member. In the case of Bujak, Hoerr pointed to the 10 years with Heights Finance, a career marked with constant growth and profitability for the com­ pany. Members of the Presidents club are awarded a blazer, a plaque and a necktie, and they are recognized for their outstanding achievement by the entire management team. Ray Bujak's career with the company began in 1971 as a branch manager for the Heights office in Woodstock. As a result of his success there, two years later he was promoted to district manager, with his "home base" remaining in Wood­ stock. In addition to his responsibilities at Heights Finance corporation, Ray is active as a member of the Moose lodge and enjoys playing SNband.
