The most recently reported cases have been hepatitis A, but the initial symptoms of all forms of hepatitis is similar: fatigue,* nausea, fever, abdominal discomfort, loss of appetite, with dark urine and jaundice as symptoms which may appear later. Some cases are mild and are mistaken for flu. Special diet and rest are indicated for severe cases. Blood tests are needed to diagnose which type of viral hepatitis is present. The best way to prevent infection is to practice good hygiene. "The washing of hands thoroughly with soap and water after using the toilet prevents the spread of hepatitis A.
