FATHER EDWARD SCHOTT Effective Jan. 1, St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic church in McHenry has a new associate pastor. At the second annual parish ap­ preciation dinner New Years day, Father Edward Schott was introduced to parishioners by the pastor, Father James Gaynor. Father Schott was born in Pittsburg, Pa., April 16,1938. His college and seminary days were spent with the Franciscan order in Loretto, Pa. On Ascension Thursday, 1966, Father was ordained by the Laying on of Hands by Bishop J. Carroll Mc- Cormack in Altoona, Pa. His various assignments have taken him to Philadelphia as an instructor in a Catholic high school, to Bayou La Batre, Ala., and to North .Andover, Mass. Other assignments have included a summer of hospital chaplain work, a position in the Admissions office at St. Francis college, and most recently, four years as pastor of St. Mark's church in Lake Andes, South Dakota. DEATHS WILLIAM LANG William C. Lang,. 1705 Mar drive, McHenry, died Friday, Jan. 15, at Nor­ thwestern Memorial hospital, Chicago. He was 56 years old, born in Clinton, Mass. Aug. 14, 1925, the son of William and Ethel (Pickels) Lang. Mr. Lang lived in McHenry about 13 years and had been a pilot for United airlines. Survivors are his wife Marilyn (Krienke); a daughter, Elizabeth Ann; two sons, William Alan and Kenneth Adam; all of McHenry. Also surviving are his mother of Clinton; three brothers, Elliott R. of Pembroke, Mass., Raymond B. of Geneva, 111. and Richard D. of Montpelier, Vt. Visitation was held Monday from 3:30 to 4 p.m., at the Peter M. J us ten & Son funeral home and 5 to 9 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal church, McHenry; also from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, at the church, followed by a funeral Mass. Interment was private. Kunkel, 4212 Riverview drive, Sunnyside, died Friday, Jan. 15, at McHenry hospital. She was 85 years old, born in Bloomingdale, 111. liar. 9, 1896, the daughter of Fred and Emma (Duensing) Witte. Mrs. Kunkel lived in the area about 30 years, having come from Bellwood, 111. She is survived by her husband Arthur A. Kunkel, whom she married Apr. 5, 1918, in Forest Park, 01.; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Marjorie) Nolan of Sun­ nyside; eight grandchildren; and five great­ grandchildren. Other survivors are two brothers, Arthur F. Kunkel of Napa, Calif, and Norman E. Kunkel of Bremerton, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Wardrum of Chicago and Mrs. Clara Kuhn of Minnesota. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, in the Peter M. J us ten ft Son funeral home, with the Rev. Gordon Smith of Ringwood Methodist church officiating and burial in McHenry County Memorial Park cemetery, Woodstock. Friends called from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday.
