The new 12th Congressional district in­ cludes Western Lake county, virtually all of * McHenry county, and several town­ ships. in Cook county in­ cluding Barrington town­ ship, Schaumburg township and the northwest corner of Elk Grove township. Congressman Philip Crane will represent the 12th district and is unopposed in the Republican primary. Jourdan of McHenry, has been GOP Chiarman of McHenry county for 14 years and a precinct com­ mitteeman for over 20 years. He was selected by the Rep­ ublican county chairmen as chairman of the state-wide association for two terms and served as Governor Thompson's down-state coordinator in his two campaigns for state-wide office. Jourdan is currently in his third term as the elected county auditor of McHenry county. Hie office of state central committeeman is a non- paying position with a four- year term. Discussing Sentencing Law For Voter League The Woodstock-McHenry unit of the Illinois League of Women Voters will hold a meeting Thursday, Feb. 11 at 9:30 a.m., at the Presbyterian church on Tryon street in Woodstock. Babysitting will be available. A panel com­ prised of League members and a guest attorney will discuss the new Illinois Sentencing laws including mandatory prison sentences, good time credit and mandatory supervised release programs. The League of Women Voters is an issue orientated, nonpartisan organization. Persons interested in joining the League should contact 385-3254 for in­ formation.
