I Political Corner I Libertarians Adopt New Official Name The Libertarians of the area have an official name. They will be known as McHenry County Liber­ tarians. As such they will be joining with other Liber­ tarians of the area and the state to obtain signatires on petitions so that! the Libertarian partyjvilliiave a place on the ballot" for the November elections. There is a full state slate anticipated which will in­ clude some candidates from the local area. Discussions on items of liberty are held by the McHenry County Liber­ tarians each month at the Branded Steak House. Persons concerned about their liberties are invited to visit one of the discussions held each third Thursday. The next meeting is set for 7 p.m. Feb. 18, with a limit of two hours. More information is available from Bill Baruth at 455-4494. OPEN HEADQUARTERS Citizens for Schaffer opened their 1982 campaign headquarters in Crystal Lake Saturday, Feb. 6, with an open house. Over 100 Schaffer supporters at­ tended the function, in­ c l u d i n g n u m e r o u s Republican candidates. The headquarters will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. until noon on Satur­ days. Campaign coor­ dinator, Mike Berlin said he may be called at 815-459- 1776. \ College Honors | Ph. D: Degree Earned By Brad N. Chazotte Brad Nelson Chazotte, 1412 N. Richmond road, McHenry, recently received a Ph. D. (Doctor of Philosophy) degree from Northern Illinois university. He studied in the Depart­ ment of Chemistry. A graduate school fellow and research assistant at NIU last year, Chazotte also was awarded a fellowship by the NATO Advanced Study Institute in 1980 and was selected foi> listing in Out­ standing Young Men of America in 198i. His doctoral dissertation is entitled, "Local Anesthetic Effects on Membrane En­ zymes of Mitochondrial Electron Transport." Chazotte earned his un­ dergraduate degree in biology from Bucknell university, Lewisburg, Pa.
