Tonight they travel to Dundee to take on Paul Judson's Cardunals, and tomorrow night take on the other Judson's team the Zion Benton ZeeBees here at Buckner nrm. The Warriors had a good chance against Crown last Friday, but let the game get away from them after building up a big first period lead. Saturday night was a different stjory. The Warriors were simply outclassed by the visiting Libertyville Wildcats. The tall and talented Cats were lust too much for die smaller Warrior squad to overcome. Max Sanders, Wildcat coacn snowed a lot of class, when he yanked his regulars early, otherwise who knows what the score may have been. It is tough for a coach at this time of the season with the state tourney approaching, not to let his team get all the play they can. fm sure the popular "Cat" coach, realized this, but then again, what was there to gain, and why spoil a beautiful friendship with the Warrior coaching staff and fans. I have known the Wildcat coach for a long time, and he was and still is a perfect gentlemaa He proved it last Saturday night. Congratulations are in order to some members of Marty Sobczak's "Hassling Warriors". Eric Karpanski won the district 96 pound title at the Woodstock District last weekend, and Eric along with Steve Carby and Dan Clark all qualified for the Sectional meet this weekend at Palatine. Warrior fans are wishing them die best of luck, and although the competition gets a little stronger, here is hoping they all qualify for the state finals. Jane Pecucci also had a fine night for the Skyhawks scoring eight points and sharing rebounding honors with Dehn as each grabbed 12 tj Lori Kramarczyk topped the Hornets in scoring with 16 points, while Mona Dale chipped in 10. Kofler's first game following injury was a superb one, although the Skyhawks came out on a losing note 53-50 against Richmond-Burton. Kofler scored 15 points in the contest to lead John sburg, but the Rockets hung on in the fourth quarter to win. "I thought Cheri played an ? excellent game considering it was her first one after she became injured," said Koenigseder. "She shot well, rebounded, and passed the ball well during her time on the court." Pecucci, Hauck, and Dehn also scored in double figures but the Skyhawks' chances for victory were severly hurt when Dehn fouled out with s three minutes to play in the game. The Scots were not allowed any free throws during the entire game and ultimately lost 80-74. The Scots played a tight game, putting forth their best efforts as they went against the conference champions in their season finale. MCC went ahead early in the first half and took a surprising 34-32 lead at halftime. X However, the lead was short lived as Waubonsee recovered early in the second half and took a nine- point lead itself. With seven minutes remaining in the contest the Scots tied the score, but that would be as close as they would get for the remainder of the game. Late foul trouble awarded the Chiefs an opportunity to tally four free throws and another field goal put the game away in the closing minutes. Despite not having an opportunity to get to the cnarity stripe, the Scots shot well from the field making 37 Tankers Head To Rockford M i k e S h a n a h a n ' s McHenry high school swim team will begin District competition on Saturday, Feb. 20 at Rockford- Jefferson high school.
