Mission Team Picks Annual Rummage Sale Dates ficers for 1982 will be elected and the fourth and final round of the card tour­ nament will be played. Also, plans will be made for the installation banquet of the new officers and for attending the 28th annual Diocesan Conference which will take place in Sterling, 111. April 18. The committee for the social hour includes Zita Behm, Karen Pierce, Rose Wagner, Rita Miller, Debbie Diedrich, Mary Schmitt, Clara Adams, Dorothy Tonyan and Arlene Fowler. The March U.M.W. Mission Team (Executive committee) meeting was called to order at 9:45 a.m. by president Robbi Hurckes, and began with prayer. Then, the annual Spring U.M.W. Rummage Sale was discussed and dates set were Thursday, April 1,8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday, April 2, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, April 3,8 a.m. to noon; in the Fellowship hall, lower level of the church. Rummage can be brought to the First United Methodist church, 3717 W. Main street, and stored in classroom 1-B, lower level, starting Mon­ day, March 22. Volunteers will be needed to help set up the sale, starting Monday, March 29. The Craft club - working for the annual Fall Bazaar - is meeting the second and fourth Fridays of each month, at 12:30 p.m., in the church parlor. It was announced that the Elgin District Woman's Retreat will be held March 20-21, at Holmes Center, Northern Illinois university, DeKalb, 111. The study will be Prayer, with leader Sharon Guenthner. Those interested in going may contact Robbi Hurckes. General meeting will be Thursday, March 18, and will feature a Communion Brunch starting at 10 a.m, with the Mission team as hostesses; the April General meeting will be held in the evening, with a very interesting speaker; the May General meeting will be in the afternoon, and is designated as a "Happy Hatter Tea". The next U.M.W. Mission team meeting is scheduled to be held Monday, April 5, at 9:30 a.m., in the church parlor. Approximately 70 members and guests were present at the annual Membership dinner of the McHenry unit of the American Legion Auxiliary to see the presentation of 'Honor Guard' pins. A 55-year pin was awarded to Elizabeth Schoewer; 45- year pin to Lillian Jensen; 40-year pin to Emma Lieser; and 35-year pins to Henrietta Ahrens, Teresa Conway and Ethel Hunter. Karen Cozart, Elaine Gargaro, Marie Diedrich, Elaine Gray, Shirley Hayes, Helen Miller, Bernadine Mould and Charlene Reichert received 30-year pins. Twenty-five-year pins were given to Arlys Aim, Alice Brda, Donnabelle Doherty, Judy Hay, Anne Kane, Helen Knight, Nancy Nolan, Mary Sue O'Donnell, Martha Raasch, Helen Sch­ mitt, Janet Tomal and Rosalyn Volpendesta. Catherine Bauer, Cathy Fenner, Loretta Meyer, Jr., Cheryl Mowrer, Joan Olsen, Margaret A. Olsen, Julie Penny and Lois Worts all received 20-year pins. Fifteen-year pihs were awarded to Marie Brichta, Susan Borconvan, Bernice Etten, Nancy Messer and Cecilia Violette. Annelise Bauer, Lottie Bykowski, Barbara Freund, Jacqueline Freund, Lorraine Freund, Patricia Henken, Vickie Huska, Geraldine Kuck, Ann Kuczkowski, Mary Kuemmel, Wendy Brooke Miller, Madalyn Otto, Jean Sherwood and Margaret Whiting were all recipients of 10-year pins. Pearl Cooper, Mem­ bership chairman, was in charge of the dinner and introduced her committee, congratulating them for a "job well done". She also announced that McHenry unit is 100 percent in membership. The dinner was prepared and served by members of the McHenry Rifle squad, with Ed Reid and George Mrachek in charge of cooking. Husbands and guests enjoyed dancing after the dinner. Guests at the event were 11th District President, Becky Gabel; 11th District Secretary Iolene Biangardi; McHenry County Auxiliary President, Eileen Eibish; McHenry County Secretary, Marion Karlove; and Gordie Gabel. District President Gabel gave an interesting talk on the activities of the 11th district and mentioned five of the unit members are serving with her during her term of office this year. She was especially pleased with the 100 percent in mem­ bership. Greetings were brought by other guests present.
