[». ,-rx Ring wood News Doris Low Katy Christopher 653-9262 385-8037 Church Holds Rummage Sale The Ringwood United Methodist church will be holding its semi-annual Rummage sale Friday, March 28, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and'Saturday, March 77, from 9 a.m. to noon. "Coffee .And" will be available to those who attend Friday. Anyone wishing to donate items for the sale is requested to faring them to the church Monday, March 22, through Wednesday, March 24. FIRST GRADERS NEED STAMPS The first graders of Johnsburg are very much in need of cancelled stamps from your envelopes. The stamps are for a project to be completed by each child (there are 153 children in the first grade) by the end of the school year. Whenever you have some stamps, they may be left with Lil Visconti in Ringwood. They ask that you leave some of the envelope around the stamp. Also, if you have the plastic egg cartons, the students would appreciate getting these for other class projects. The cartons may also be left with Lil. HERE AND THERE BUI and Shirley Cristy spent last weekend with their son and daughter-in- law, Larry and Diane Cristy, in Indianola, Iowa. Former residents, Ted and Ann Wickman, drove over on Sunday, from their home in Atlantic, for a good visit with the Cristys. Some more of our people have recently returned from visiting sunny Florida and happy they missed the recent snowstorms. Art and Katy Christopher crowded a lot of sightseeing into seven days, as well as visiting friends down there, in­ cluding Bob and Jean Decker, formerly of Wonder Lake. The Harry Hogan family was there at the same time seeing the interesting sights but the two families never did meet. 1 ,t5 Paul and Althea Walkington spent the past week with their son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Maya Walkington, in Butler, Pa. Tom is a teacher at Butler Junior college. The folks saw some flooding in the Toledo area on their way home but at no time was their driving hampered. Walt and Alice Mae Wilcox of Woodstock and Bob and Sue Low of McHenry were Sunday afternoon callers in the Walt Low home. The afternoon and evening were spent looking over an old plat book of McHenry county ; seeing Doris and Walt's Florida pictures; and the pictures that daughter Sue brought home from California of Donna and her family, especially of the new baby, Kristin. FIRSTBORN Dolores (Betts) and David Cornelia of Woodstock, are the proud parents of their first child, a baby boy born Tuesday, March 9, at 6:51 a.m. He weighed 8 lbs., 5 oz., and was 21 inches long and will answer to the name of Nicholes Ian Cornelia. Proud maternal grandparents are Robert and Martha Betts of Ringwood, and the equally proud paternal grand­ parents are Joe and Pearl Cornelia of Woodstock. Maternal great grand­ mothers are Mrs. Anna Betts of Ringwood and Mrs. Wendella Cairns of Genoa City, Wis. Paternal great grandmother is Leva of Woodstock. ANOTHER FIRST BORN Nicholes Thomas Low was bom Monday, March 15, at U:15a.m., weighing 7 lbs., 9 oz., and measuring l9te inches long, is the first child born to Sherry and Tom Low of Johnsburg. Maternal grandparents are Gloria and Roger Pechous of John- 1 sburg. This makes number five grandchild for Gloria and Rog, with number six due any day now. Paternal grandparents are Walt and Doris Low of Ringwood. This makes number 19 for the Lows, but the first grandson to carry on the Low name. SLATE THEATRE OUTING-The Sheep herder* Fellowship group at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran church, 464 North Green street, McHenry, has planned an outing to the Woodstock theatre Sunday, March 21, at 8 p.m. to see the play entitled "Applause". Approximately 60 members of the group will enjoy the play and then return to the church for homemade pie and ice cream. The Sheepherders Fellowship group provides education and recreation for the adults at the church on a regular basis. Anyone 18 or older b always welcome to participate in the activities.
