Historical Society Offers Coin Course L0gal Notice NOTICE Public iven that on Ai WWi I* •• •-:% , He fc ** ****** • 3 * . • ~ Notice is hereby given that on April 1, A.D. 1982* a certificate was filed in the Office of the County Clerk of McHenry County, Illinois, setting forth the names and poet-office ad dresses of all of the persons owning, conducting and transacting the business known as COUNTRY CATERING, located at 813 Mill Street, McHenry, Illinois 6C050. Dated this 1st day of April, A.D. 1962. Rosemary Azzaro County Clerk (Pub. Apr. 7,14,21,1982) No. 820135 Legal Notice The board of directors of the McHenry County Historical society has an nounced that arrangements have been finalized for a second course, this one on coins, to be offered at the society's museum in Union. Gene Nowell, McHenry, will conduct the eight-week series of classes beginning May 4 and continuing through June 22. Nowell started collecting coins in 1963. As a member of the American Numismatic association, he notes that coins rank just behind stamps in collecting popularity. They have long been recognized for in vestment purposes which only emphasizes the need for a thorough knowledge of the field so wise investments can be made. Nowell is widely known in the McHenry area as a frequent speaker before civic groups and organizations, and the Historical society is pleased to be able to offer his course on coin collecting. As with the Antique course first offered, this class will run from 8 to 10 p.m. Tuesday nights and will cover such topics as the history of U.S. coinage, coin grading, determining value, scarcity, counterfeiting, and the price movement of gold and silver. Further details will appear as they become available. For information con cerning the course, contact the Historical society at 815- 923-2267. Lakeland Park & Carol Cominsky Cancer Drive Needs Workers The American Cancer Crusade will be taking place during the month of April and we need volunteers to collect in Lakeland Park. If you can donate some time collecting in your neigh borhood it would be greatly appreciated. Carol Low is the person to contact to sign up and she can be reached at 344-3197. Please call her today. CLUB MEETS The Lakeland Park Womans club will have its next meeting Thursday, April 8. The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with a potluck dinner in the community house. You are reminded to bring canned goods for FISH. NEW NEIGHBORS As I was washing my windows last Thursday, April 1, I noticed life at the house next door. We now have new neighbors, Tim and Marge Lesch. This young couple lived in an apartment in McHenry and have now joined the ranks of happy homeowners. They are two very busy people; Tim is an engineering student and works at McHenry hospital and Marge is a student nurse also working at McHenry hospital. I knew we're going to get along great when Marge came over to borrow some scissors just a few hours after they moved in. We send them a warm welcome to our community. CLEANUP WEEK If you have begun your Spring cleaning already, find an out of the way place to store your castaways. The city will be having its annual cleanup week, June 7-11. June 10 is the date for Lakeland Park to throw away their no longer needed possessions. ROAD WORK The Meadow lane project has been approved and work is to begin May 15.
