McHENRY MARKET - PLACE Mark Twain "In Person" The Woodstock Opera * House will present Richard' Henzel as "Mark Twain in Per son" for two weekends beginning Friday, May 7. Henzel 's per* formance, modelled after one of Twain's famous lectures, covers many of the humorist's anecdotes and tall tales. Attired in white suit and red silk cravat, and carrying his ever- present cigar, Hand, as Twain, slyly com ments on human weaknesses in such pieces as.... Mark Twain lived during the years 1835 to 1910 when the railroad, the telegraph, the ., telephone, the electric light, the typewriter and other inventions of the time . were being in troduced and creating vast changesl Of this area he said he had "a large cargo of the most interesting and im portant private opinions shout every great matter under the sun, but that they are not for print." Carol ine Harn- sberger, a recognised author on the writings and character of > Samuel Clemens, has commented on Henzel's performance that "his phenomenal memory enables him to give his audiences s limitless amount of Twain material, and his - characterisation makes Twain seem to be standing in one's very presence." An accomplished Chicago actor, Richard Henzel has researched and performed the role for over 10 years. Performances are scheduled for Fridsys and Saturdays , May 7 ,8 , 14, and IS at 8:15 p.m. and one Sunday per formance, May 9, at 8 p.m. Further in formation or reser vations may be obtained by calling the Wood stock Opera House ticket office, (815) 338- 5300, Tuesday through Saturday, noon until 5:30 p.m. kAatricis Viewpaints The desire of power in excess csused angels to fall; the desire of know ledge in excess csused man to fall; but in char ity there is no excess, neither can man or angds come into danger by it. --Francis Bacon 385-4100 NEED HELP?
