Walnut drive, Wonder Lake, 111., processed down the aisle of the Church of St. Mary of the Assumption, McHenry, esorted by her father, to exchange promises of marriage with Paul Waldoch of Marengo, 111. The bride is the daugher of Mr. and Mrs. Millard Rakestraw, 321 S. Draper road, McHenry. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Waldoch, 18813 River road, Marengo, are the parents of the bridegroom. The Reverend Edward Schott officiated at the 2:30 p.m. solemnization, before an altar decorated with floral arrangements of light pink and variegated, miniature carnations, white daisy pomps, seafoam icebergs and baby's breath Appropriate musical selections were performed by soloist, Mrs Gloria Peetz of Woodstock, HI., who accompanied herself on the organ. The bride wore a gown of white chantilly lace, fashioned with a Queen Anne neckline and Bishop sleeves. From the modified waist, accented with venice lace, and lavished with Rearls, hung a full circular skirt. owing into a chapel length train. A blusher veil was secured to her fingertip length veil of matching white lace. To complete the look, sh«- carried a free-form cascade bouquet of miniature white carnations, bridal white roses and stephanotis, surrounding a miniature white orchid. Attending the bride as matron of honor was her friend, Mrs. Chuck (Fran) Conway of McHenry. Bridesmaids were a sister of the bride, Mrs. Fred (Patricia) Schmidtgali of Woodstock and Miss Donna Waldoch of Belvidere, the groom's sister. Attendants were attired in floor length gowns of seafoam green, featuring accordion pleated skirts and accented with chiffon coverlets. Handmade headpieces of pink and rose flowers adorned their hair and they carried nosegays of flowers echoing the altar decorations. Flower girls were Kari Shanks of Chillicothe, Ohio and Heather McQuary of Oklahoma City, Okla. They wore white eyelet dresses trimmed with green ribbon and carried baskets at flowers similar to the bridal attendants' bouquets. Handling the duties of best man was the groom's brother-in-law, James Fogarty of Woodstock Groomsmen were a friend of the groom, Kendall Lewis of Woodstock and the bride's brother, Michael Rakestraw of McHenry. Ushers were the bride's brother-in-law, Fred Schmidtgali and a friend of the couple, Jack Peetz, both of Woodstock. Jason Shanks of Chillicothe was the ring bearer and he wore a white suite, complimented by a gray vest. The mother of the bride chose a light green, floor length gown, with an accordion pleated skirt. A silver gray, floor length gown of crepe and chiffon, with matching coat, was the choice of the groom's mother. Both had corsages of white roses and baby's breath. The new Mrs. Waldoch graduated from McHenry Community high school in 1971 and is presently a credit manager for Good Snepherd hospital, Barrington, 111. Her husband, a 1970 graduate of Marian Central high school, served four years with the U S. Air Force; attended Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Okla. and Northern Illinois university in DeKalb; and is currently a self- employed woodcrafter Trie wedding marked the occasion of the first reunion of the groom's family, including his parents and four sisters, since 1969 They were joined by his 93-year-old grandfather, William Waldoch of Circle Pines, Minn, and many out of state relatives. A traditional Fish Boil Dinner will be sponsored by the McHenry County Association for the Retarded (MCAR) Friday, June II, in Crystal Lake's Veterans' Acres. Serving hours will be from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Association members provide an absolutely delicious dinner and a bit of showmanship when the giant caldrons "boilover" at the end. Although there are many variations to a traditional Fish Boil of fine codfish, boiled potatoes and onions served floating in hot melted butter, the Pioneer Center group adds coleslaw, homemade bread, dessert and a beverage. Tickets are being sold at Pioneer Center facilities and the local Chamber of Commerce office. The auxiliary to McHenry hospital is once again hard at work on a fund- raising project. The proceeds from Golf Play day will benefit the facility, and the event to scheduled for Sunday, June 27, at Chapel Hill Country club, 2500 N. Chapel Hill road. The fee for the nine-hole golf event includes the cook out to begin at 7:30 p.m. A card party will be held in the clubhouse for non-golfers. The menu features steak, salad, baked potato and ice cream. A cash bar will be available. Tee times will be aaaigned, and reservations are necessary.
