The Music Booster club has spent the past two years in fund raising activities to raise sufficient money to outfit 100 of the young musicians in seventh and eighth grade. Urbanski, Parks & Recreation Milwaukee County Zoo Take a trip around the world to observe native animal groupings in their natural habitats at the Milwaukee county zoo. The City of McHenry Department of Parks and Recreation is taking registration now at city hall for Friday, June 25, field trip. The registration deadline for this trip is Monday, June 21. The fefe for this field trip includes the ticket and transportation to the zoo The bus will be leaving city hall at 10:30 a.m. and returning at 5:30 p.m. All registration is on a first come, first serve basis and open to all ages (children 6 and under must be ac­ companied by an adult). Call 344-3300 Kids Dog Show Kids ages 4 to 14 are invited to enter the Kids Dog show This program will be held at 10 a m at Petersen park June 19 A dog could be named the funniest, best behaved, smallest, biggest, best trick dog and more Awards will be presented to every dog in the show Any dog may com­ pete regardless of breed, pedigree, or training, provided it is at least six months old and is on a leash Registration is being taken at McHenry city hall The registration deadline is Wednesday, June 16. Call 344-3300 for more information. Tumbling and Exercise The city is again sponsoring a pre­ school tumbling and exercise class for children 2 to 4 years old. Limbering and fitness exercise as well as motor coordination exercises are in­ corporated into game activities As the child progresses, tumbling will be non-added on individual levels in a competitive manner. Classes are in smaller groups than last year so there is more individual attention placed upon each child. There are eight sessions to choose from, four beginning on June 14 and four beginning on July 12, all running for three weeks each. Call 344-3300 Creativity Clinic The City of McHenry Department of Parks and Recreation has developed a new program for pre-school children • ages 3 to 5 Activities are organized to aid in the development of sensory experiences, motor skills, art, music, books, dramatic play, and games, directed by a certified pre-school teacher ('lasses begin the we«»jt of June 14 and the week of July 19 both running for 4 weeks each The program will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at Petersen park. Shirley VanDeWege will teach this class Wednesday' nights from 7-9 at Parkland school. This program begins July 21 and runs for four weeks. For further information call 344- 3300 Teen Stretch and Sew Registration for the Teens Stretch and Sew class is now being taken at city hall. This class will teach them how to make three tops, one skirt, and pleated pants along with many other quick stretch and sew methods. This program begins June 17 and runs for four weeks. Activate Area % Races Group Amateur Radio Operators are in­ vited to join the Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services (RACES) of McHenry county, according to Gene Leffelbein deputy director in charge of Communications for the McHenry County Emergency Services and Disaster agency. A meeting will be held to activate the RACES group in McHenry county Tuesday, June 15, at 8 p.m. in the Emergency Operations center at the McHenry county courthouse on Route 47 in Woodstock. RACES operators help provide radio communications in times of emergency. Anyone with an Amateur Radio License is eligible to become a member of RACES. All interested amateur radio operators are urged to attend the meeting. For additional information call 338-6400.
