Once again, the weather man cooperated, providing a clear blue-skied, sun-filled July 30. Lots of snacking and lunching in the woods went along with some fine golfing by the ladies and their guests. Preceding dinner and prize presentationa, entertainment in the form of "Sentimental Journey Around the World" brought down the house as a variety of skits, songs and dancing were performed. The in-house talent was under the direction of our lady of the keyboard, Millie Simon, and Betty Mohan included so many o fthe ladies that the list is too long to write. Golfing awards were made, in' various categories. A Blind Bogie was' won by Dot Shadle, Dot Freund, Joan Schloskey and Irish Sayler. Low Net awards in Class A for members went to Sue Martin with a 68 and to Carol Cooney with 72. In Class B to Carol Barnicle with 86 and Carolyn Harger with 67. For closest to the hole on No. 18 member Alvina Yopp won and guest Dorothy Hughes dit toed. Longest .drive on No. 4 was put out by Judy Smithson, member, and Phyllis Healy, guest. They both laid than out thdre right around the 230 yard marfc.. . , . With better than 180 women in at tendance it was just about impossible to pick up all the reports on birdies and chip-ins. Here are a few, however. Mary Mutchinsky chipped in on No. 13 to hold par as did Espar Oja on both Nos. 11 and 17. Betty Rode, for the first time in thirty years birdied No. 15 to really make the day for her. Other birdies were scored by Sue Martin on No. 15, Judy Smithson on No. 18, Carol Cooney on Nos. 14 and 18, and Lil Michels on Nos. 6, 14 and 15. The foursome of Judy Smithson, Dee Overton, Carol Cooney and Lil Michels found it interesting that each of the foursome had a par three 6n the over-the-creek No. 8. It uaually doesn't happen, even with the men. Incidently, a crazy-putts contest was won by member Sue Martin and guest Nancy McAuliffe. Much appreciation goes to a great committe, headed by Shirley Nye and Joan Buss, and their workers who put together one of the best Hullaballoos ever and truly made for Happy Golfing!
