At least three network and off-network projects are in vari ous stages of development. ABC is said to have told 20th Century-Fox to start developing a saga about an elite hospital unit. Mean while, Com-world Productions and Procter & Gamble have pooled their resources for "Emergency Room," a two-hour TV-film starring Sarah Pureed ("Real People"), which will be pitched to individual stations. Wifliam Conrad will be making a comeback in TeleCom Entertainment's "Shocktrauma, which will air Oct. 27 on an ad-hoc network put together by General Foods Showcase Television. HOLD THE PRESSES -- "One Day at a. Time's" Valerie Bertinflli will star as an undercover reporter who gets the lowdown on the mail-order bride business in the CBS comedy "I Was a Mail-Order Bride." The TV-movie, which is being made through Miss Bertinelli's own Tuxedo Production Company, also stars Holland Taylor, Karen Morrow and Ted Wass. Wass will also be seen as Inspector blouseau's bumbling rela tive in the new "Pink Panther" movie, which will be released next year. TELE-NOTES -- One of ABC's new recruits, Canadi an actor Gordon Thomson, has been added to the ever-expanding cast of "Dynasty." Thomson will be seen as the long-lost son of Blake and Alexis Carringt^ftp (John Forsythe and Joan Collins). It looks as if ABC has Snared Jaclyn Smith to star in Robert Anderson's classic "Tea and Sympathy." She'll be seen as a housewife who gets involved with a younger man. rive-stations in majdi American cities have bought iiijlits to "Mood and Honoi." ti\o houi diama detailing how t'liMMi.m ohildion \\<'i<" v hctiism:t t.< |v«in thi!
