Eisenhower-the Kansas country boy who led the mightiest invasion in history and con- Ask Kate Ron Howard Attention: Ron Howard By Kate Woods Where can I write to Ron Howard? I'd like to work on his next movie. You can send Howard your resume, eight-by-ten glossies, etc., through his company, Major H Produc tions, 5555 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles, Calif. 90038'. Good job hunting. FLIPPIN FACTS -- Is actor Jay C. Flippin still alive? I just saw him in the Marlon Brando movie "The Wild One," and used to enjoy him on "Ensign O'Toole." The crusty character actor passed away in 1971 at the age of 73. ROCK MOVIE -- A friend of mine was telling me about a movie he once saw with Ringo Starr and Keith Moon. It was about an English rock singer, but he can't remember who played the singer. Was there ever such a movie? Has it been on TV? The two drummers co- starred with David Essex in "That'll Be the Day," released in 1974. Ringo played a straight dramatic role as an amusement park roustabout, while Moon, the late Who drummer played percussion in the movie group, called the Stray Cats. Dave Edmunds co-starred as another band member. There was a sequel in '75 called "Stardust." Both films borrowed liberally from the life of John Lennon. Neither picture has been shown on American r TV, but they do turn up in' revival houses. MUTE POINT -- Do you remember a cartoon about a boy that couldn't talk, but made funny sounds-instead? I have to know that name. Shame on you. How could you forget Gerald McBoing-Boing? Created by Stephen Bosutow, Ger ald starred jn several movie shorts before getting his own Saturday morning TV series in 1956 on CBS. BARETTA'S PET -- I just bought a cockatoo and want to name him after Robert Blake's bird on "Baretta," but I can't remember the name. From henceforth call your feathered friend Fred. "Ask Kate" welcomes all questions pertaining to television and show busi ness personalities, but because of the volume of" mail involved, personal replies are not possible.
