All-conference selection Jeff Cychner will hold down the fullback spot, while Pete Sandall is set at left halfback. Dave Kubacki and John Jarvis are battling for the right halfback spot. Hartlieb, a junior, returns for his second varsity campaign at quarterback. "He calls his own plays," Penza said. "He's going to be given a certain amount of latitude...That's my philosophy." On defense, Fortin or Green will begin the season at noseguard, replacing John Taylor, who strained some knee ligaments during practise last week; Kelly and Navarroli will hold down the tackle spots; while Steve Brown and Gary Tonya are Penza's choice at defensive ends. Linebackers will include Truckenbrod and Borman while Steve Garrellts and Bob Wenzel will be the cornerbacks. Sandall and Jarvis are expected to be the Hurricanes deep men;-- PAGE 17 - PLAINDEALER - FRIDAY. Speaker only has two seniors on a team that so far compiled a 1-5 record. One of the seniors, Sam Anthony, has turned in the low score for the Hurricanes in every match. The ttot her; senior is Tom Morris. "Graduation really hurt us hard," said . Speaker. "We're weighted down with inexperienced juniors. But were hoping these juniors will have a strong summer and come back. With a good part of the season all ready over, Speaker is using the remaining schedule to develop his young golfers. "Were just trying to improve. In every match, except one, our scores have been going down. "We got a lot of real promising freshmen and sophomores. We're working on practising -- just a lot of practise. Who knows, we might squeeze a few victories in. -----;-- , One of those prominsing freshmen, is Steve Huemann. "Hopefully we can get Sam Anthony in some state competition," added Speaker. The other varsity golfers are; Terry Reckamp, Todd Bright. Gregg Mason and Russ Schert. HAVE A GREAT SEASON!
