KEVIN SHAY MARRIED JN McHENRY - The First United Methodist church of McHenry was the setting for the Sept. 11 ceremony uniting in holy matrimony the former Julia Lynn Bittermann and Kevin Michael Shay. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Bittermann of McHenry. Mr. and Mrs. John J. Shay of McHenry are the parents of the bridegroom. The 4:31 p.m. nuptials were performed by the Rev. Thomas Lowery. Lata-, a reception for 340 guests was held at thf McHenry V.F.W. hall. Following a honeymoon in Wisconsin and Michigan, the newlyweds are residing in McHenry. The new Mrs. Shay graduated from McHenry Community high school in 1978 and Don Roberts School of Cosmotology. She is a hairdresser at Hair Dimensions, McHenry. DONALD FREUND RESIDE IN WONDER LAKE - Following their exchange of wedding vows Aug. 21, newly married Mr. and Mrs. Donald Freund are residing at 7611 Hancock drive, Wonder Lake. The bride is the former Karen Huebner, daughter of John and Valerie Grant of McHenry. Leonard and Leoda Freund of McHenry are the parents of the bridegroom. Father Edward Schott officiated at the 1 p.m. ceremony in the Church of St. Mary of the Assumption, McHenry. A reception was held for 249 friends and relatives at Chapel Hill Country club. The bride graduated from McHenry Community high school in 1978 and is presently a student at Northern Illinois university, majoring in Special Education. RUMMAGE SALE Final preparations are being made by the Zion Ladies Aid for its Fall Rummage Sale, which will be held Oct. 7 and 8, in the Social hall of Zion Lutheran church, 4206 W. Elm street, (Route 120) in McHenry. The doors will be open Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti Dinner For the third year, the Community Congregational church of Island Lake is holding its All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti Dinner, Oct. 9, from 3 to 7 p.m. The dinner includes a gourmet salad, tasty garlic bread and fabulous spaghetti with homemade sauce filled with meat, and unlimited coffee. A variety of homemade baked items will be offered at the Bakery booth - everything from bread and coffee cakes to cakes and cookies. The church is located on Route 176, across from the water tower, in Island Lake. MR. AND MRS. GENE PAUL BACH Friends and neighbors are invited .to an Open House in celebration of the twenty-fifth wedding anniversary of Armenie and Gene Bach, on Sunday, Oct. 10, from 2 to 6 p.m. The festivities will be held at the Bachs home at 7620 Howe road, in Wonder Lake, and is hosted by their children Valerie and Jim Fay, Ragan, and Gene Paul, H. Individual invitations will not be sent. Gene Paul Bach and Armenie Lourian were married Sept. 14, 1957, in Chicago. They moved to Wonder Lake in 1968, where they owned and operated the Hidden Hearth restaurant. Club Changes Meeting Date The Lakeland Park Women's club meeting will be held Thursday, Oct. 14, at 7:30 p.m., at the community house - not Thursday, Oct. 7. After the business segment of the meeting, there will be a games party. Hostesses for the evening will be Marie Nichols and Anne Delfs. All ladies of Lakeland Park and Lakeland Shores are invited and urged to come out and enjoy an evening of fun and fellowship. Celebrate 10th Anniversary The children and grandchildren of Roy and Grace Swanson, Carole, Sam, and Michelle Mitterling; Marisa and Kerry Batdorff ; Nancy, Cecil and Ed Vogts and Grace; Dawn and Scott Petersen, will host an Open House Saturday, Oct. 9, to commemorate the couple's tenth wedding anniversary. All friends and relatives of the Swansons are cordially invited to celebrate with them on this happy occasion, from 4 to 9 p.m., at the Mitterling home, 9302 Wondermere road, Wonder Lake.
