Gough, 79, of 585 Page street, Elgin, 111. died Tuesday, Oct. 5, at his home. He'was born Dec. 28, 1902, in Kankakee, 111., the son of Delbert G. and Freda D. (Brans) Gough. Mr. Gough had been a delivery man for Benin's Grocery store, Elgin and was a member of the Fox Valley C.B. Centinals. Surviving are his wife Dorothy (Lange) Gough, whom he married Oct. 1, 1929; four sons, Douglas of Verona, Wis., James of Elgin, Gary of McHenry and Richard of Brace, Wis.; two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Delores) Sooby of Lawrence, Ks. and Mrs. Joseph (Judith) Coleman of Forest City, Ark.; two sisters, Mrs. Louis (Darlene) Pearson of Carpentersville, 111. and Mrs. Clarence (Gladys) Johnson of St. Charles, 111.; 16 grandchildren and two great­ grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Kenneth; one sister Ruth Schoger; one grandchild and one great-grandchild. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, at the Wait-Ross-Allison funeral chapel, Elgin, with the Rev. C. Peter Maisenbacht, assistant pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran church, officiating and burial in Lakewood Memorial Park cemetery, Elgin. Visitation was scheduled at the funeral home from 3 to 9 p.m. Thur­ sday. Memorials Would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society. HAROLD PERKINS Harold L. Perkins, 71, of 902 Irving avenue, Woodstock, 111., died Tuesday evening, Oct. 5, in Memorial Hospital for McHenry County, Woodstock. He was born July 22,1911, in Woodstock, to Charles and Lillian Perkins. Mr. Perkins had been an employee of R. O. Andrew Co. over 30 years. On March 14,1936, in Woodstock, he married the former Josephine Zim­ merman who survives. Other sur­ vivors are a son Michael of Cary; a daughter, Mrs. Wilfred (Lynette) Savord of McHenry, four grand­ children; a brother George Perkins of Arlington Heights; and an aunt, Mrs. Nellie Pierce of Woodstock. He was preceded in death by one brother. Funeral services will be held at l: 30 p.m. Friday, at Schneider-Leucht- Merwin & Cooney chapel, Woodstock, with interment in Memorial Park cemetery, Woodstock. Visitation was scheduled after 2 p.m. Thursday. ROY BRADLEY Roy E. Bradley, 74, of McHenry, died Monday, Oct. 4, at the North Chicago Veterans Administration hospital. He Was born May 28,1908, in Chicago, to George and Lilah (Golding) Block. Mr. Bradley was a resident of the Norwood Park area until the spring of 1954, when he moved to the McHenry area. He owned and operated the Bradley Decorating Co., which worked mainly in the northwest Chicagoland area, and retired in 1972. A WW II veteran, serving with the Army Corps of Engineers in the European theatre he was a lifetime member of VFW Post 4600, McHenry. Forty-six years ago in Chicago, on July 17, 1936, he married the former Genevieve Jahnke who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Joan Medeen of Chicago and Judy Felde of McHenry; three sons, Lloyd of Wonder Lake, James of Livingston, Mont, and George of Tucson, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Lila Knox of Flint, Mich, and Pearl Lazier of Twin Lakes, Wis.; and a brother Marshall Bradley of Madison, Wis. He was preceded in death by a sister Muriel. Visitation was from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the George R. Justen & Son funeral home, where funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Thomas Lowery of the First United Methodist church officiating. Installs Officers SERVICE NEWS Area Marines Take Part In NATO Exercises Two McHenry area Marines recently participated in major NATO exercises - "Northern Wedding-82" and "Bold Guard-82". The two were Staff Sgt. Leo C. Backs, Jr., son of Leo C. Backs, Sr., of 1604 Wilmot road, McHenry, and Cpl. Steven M. Branow, son of Patricia A. and Harold IS. Branow, of 1403 N. Beach road, McHenry. More than . 160 ships and 250 air­ craft from the U.S., Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal and the United Kingdom took part in the exercises. The amphibious exercises also in­ cluded more than 5,000 ground troops. Promoted Coast Guard Fireman Machinery Technician Michael W. Ortmann, son of Baltus W. Ortmann of 8711 Shady circle, Wonder Lake, was promoted to his present rank upon graduating from Machinery Technician school. The 16-week course was conducted fct the Coast Guard Reserve Training •tenter, Yorktown, Va. Students •received instruction on the inspection, servicing and repair of gasoline and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, steam driven machinery, refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment.
