Cuda's Warrior Golfers Did Alright Second in ti .e state is not too bad. Any time an athletic team in Illinois can finish second in the state, you have to be good. Congratulations to Coach Chuck Cuda and his excellent golf team for accomplishing a second place finish in the state golf meet last weekend in Peoria. New Trier again handed the Warriors their second defeat of the season, beating them out by two strokes in the Lake Forest Invitational. Two of the Warriors Chris Vehring and Kirk Barnicle finished in the top 10 and the Warriors in general put up a great fight for the top prize. ' "Patty Vickery kept me posted on the activity in Peoria. The phone lines were busy and only a aril ifU Art 1.̂ .4 - 1 .. Warriors in front of the pack. Tomorrow at West Campus, the Fox Valley meet will be held. I recommend to all Warrior fans, if you want to Sfee a spectacle, come out and watch the Fox Valley meet, ydu won't be disappointed. These kids run their hearts out and would like some support -- they deserve it. For you swimming fans, next week Coach Shanahan has promised to give me all the records broken this season, plus any other P McCracken Field. The Cardunals simply throw the ball almost on down. The Warriors secondary will have to be alert tonight for the passes of Pat Carroll. However, the Cards don't like to play defense. They seem to score, but their opponents seem to score more. It should be a good game to watch, hope to see you there. Gary Gray's girls tennis team finished fifth in Fox Valley play last weekend. Laurie Hutch's "Running Warriors" simply outclassed other county schools last Saturday at Veterans Acres in the County meet. Steve "win or tie" Carby got out of the sick bed to show his heels to the rest of the group, easily beating his rival from Central, Jim Lane. Then the Warriors parade followed, Chris Creutz, Brian Wright, Marty Koleno, followed by Jim Wynveen. It was a pretty sight to see those On The Sidelines By Dick Rabbitt information I need to inform all Warrior fans on the swimming team. /' Tonight should be a fan's delight at a football game. The Dundee Cardunals of Coach Gene Mitz will be in town. If you want to see a pro- football attack on the high school level, come to Campbell finished third in singles play. Most of you Warrior fans will be shock when you hear this one. Wilbert Hecht "All-McHenry Fan" and I must admit a good high school fan, walked me over to the concession stand at Cary-Grove and purchased a cup of coffee for me last Saturday. I am still in limbo from that gesture of Wilbert. One of these days the crystal ball is not going to break. The Warriors let me down last week and I hope they will reedem themselves this week and prove my faith in them. I'll pick the Warriors over Dundee. Coach Joe, I m sure, has passed on some words of wisdom this week. Central to defeat Cary- Grove, Jacobs to knock off Crown and the Fox Valley title (at least it looks like it on paper) and the streaks to beat South at Woodstock. Marian Central to rebound and defeat Driscoll and Lake Zurich to defeat the Sky hawks. Scoreboard 8. Huntley 125 20.8 9. Cary-Grove 148 24.6 10. Johnsburg 152 25.5 11. Marengo 153 25.5 12.
