She is the seventh person to be chosen in the ongoing program to recognize outstanding service to patients and visitors. Yvonne Wolff, chairman of the committee composed of employees from several departments, said Mrs. Duffy, head nurse on fourth floor, is "a kind and thoughtful person ap­ preciated by both her patients and the staff." She said Mrs. Duffy's positive at­ titude and cheerful demeanor gives a lift to others. "She instills confidence in others and always remains calm, even under stress," commented Mrs. Wolff. - Mrs. Duffy and her husband, Michael, live at Wonder Lake. They have six children ranging in ages from 18 to 33. Four live in this area. One lives in Michigan and another lives in Missouri. She has 15 grand­ children. Mrs. Duffy began as a nurse's aide in 1954, later became an LPN and in 1976 obtained her R.N. at McHenry County college. She has been fourth floor head nurse since 1977. Previous winners of thW recognition include Esther Hackman, Lenor Matheny, Carol Weber, Sara Walkington, Kelvin Schultz and Dennis Nagl.
