I am 67 and a grandfather and have spent most of my working life in elec trical, hydraulic and electronic work in private industry. I hope to continue learning new skills the rest of my life. I am a widower. Can you please tell your senior readers that life will be more interesting if they keep on lear ning?- Carl Z. A. Up to now I have read and heard that only whiz kids build com puters. It is wonderful that there is a whiz grandfather who built one of those machines that drive ordinary people nuts with their i and errors. . Q. - "1 have a sales letter from an insurance company that offers me a life policy that will pay $1,000 when I die. The premium asked is $16 a month - $172 a year. Is that a good buy for me? I am 74 years old. It is called a 'whole life protection' policy." - Anton J. A. -- "Tell Anton to take it," is the word from my own insurance broker. "It is a good buy." Q. - "I have been told that even though I was married for 23 years before my divorce, that I would not be able to file on my former spouse until he files for himself. He is four years younger than I, so that fact alone would rule me out from filing on his account. "Will I be able to refile for benefits on his account after he retires, after I have already filed and started drawing benefits from my account?" Mildred C.D. A. - Yes, Mildred, you may refile for a realignment of benefits. Q. - "Will you please explain about com munity property and what kind of will I should have?" - Mrs. Delbert W. A. - Community property is property jointly owned by husband and wife, half and half. Everyone should have a will, no matter where they reside. Most lawyers, who alone are fully qualified to advise A total of 75 students from this area have been included in the 16th annual edition of Who's Who Among American High School Students, 1981- 82. Who's Whp( published by Educational /Communications, Inc., Lake Foresyis the lar|est high school recognition Publication in the country. Students arAselected by high school principals and guidance counselors, national youth groups, churches or by the publishing company based upon students' performance in scholarship award contests or extra-curricular activities. Final selection is determined on the basis of criteria which include high achievement in academics and leadership in school activities, athletics or community service. Traditionally, 99 percent of Who's Who students have a grade point average of "B" or better, and 97 percent are college bound. The 16th edition of Who's Who, published in nine regional volumes, features 363,000 students, or 5 percent of the nation's 6,500,000 high school juniors and seniors. They represent 20,000 of the 22,000 public, private and parochial high schools in the country. Who's Who students also compete for over $50,000 in scholarship awards and participate in the publication's annual opinion poll of teen attitudes. The book is distributed on a com plimentary basis to over 15,000 high schools, colleges, universities, and public libraries throughout the country. The survey is conducted for the U.S. Department of Labor in a scientifically designed sample of approximately 71,000 households throughout the United States. I have had no trouble getting treatment at the VA hospital, but with Mr. Reagan's proposed cuts in VA expenses I am worried about whether I should have a supplemental health policy.
