One dream sequence, however, is quite remarkable. All the stops are pulled out and the images fly in dizzying and dazzling splendor. Far more successful is "The Last Unicorn" scripted by Peter Beagle from his own novel. Lush is about the best way to describe this animation of extraordinary colors. "The Last Unicorn" is elegant animation, combining . part- myth and part-love story, with a fine tale that is less exciting than heartwarming, and even a touch sad at the end. JACK CHHLEIMARIAN Medicine t Surgtry Of The Foot t Ankle Many contributing causes of heel pain which may alert you are both direct and indirect injury, heel spurs, heel tumors, bursitis, gout, ar- .tiritis, diabetes and strain due to standing and walking improperly" ie most frequent symptom we hear is that of "pain in the morning with the first few steps." This is due to swelling around the nerve at the bottom of the heel which may be due to a heel spur, a pinched nerve, called a "neuroma", or a stretched ligament on the bottom of the foot, or a combination of these conditions. Often relief can be ob tained by (11 padding the heel with a soft foam rubber material, 121 shoes with a thick rubber heel, and 131 ice against the bottom of the Wei to reduce the swelling. Treatment may^pclude oral new non- cortisone medications, injections directly into the heel and relieving the strain of the heel by means of padding, taping of a prescription or thotic device to place within the shoe to control the straining bones and muscles of the foot. If these measures fail and x-rays reveal bone spurs, surgical treatment is sometimes necessary to afford permanent relief. Pain in the bsck of the heel, accompanied by a "bump", is often a retrocalcaneal bursitis. In advanced cases, this protrudence may form a bone spur. Permanent relief can be obtained by removing the swollen soft tissue mass and reshaping the offending surface of the heel bone.
