But I can't think of a better group to write about. If you have ever had to use the services of the rescue squad I know you'll agree. CPR The Johnsburg Rescue Squad will be conducting classes in CPR-Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation. The classes will be held Jan. 27, at the Johnsburg Rescue Squad, 3611 N. Chapel Hill road at 7 p.m. The class lasts approximately three hours and classes are limited to 20 people. It will be on a first come first serve basis; the first 20 people to call. So if you are interested in taking a class in CPR call after 5 p.m., 385-2771 or 385-6444. . RESCUE 50 Rescue Fifty which was planned for Jan. 9, had to be postponed due to the lack of snow in the area. This is the snowmobile run for the rescue squads. I t was re -scheduled for Sunday the 16th of January. HOSPITAL NOTES Art Kunkel of 4212 Riverview has been in the McHenry hospital since Dec. 31. Art had surgery on Monday Jan. 10, but I'm happy to report that he came through surgery just fine. We hope to see Art home soon. All your many friends and neighbors wish you a speedy recovery Art. JUNIOR HIGH STUDENT INJURED Tom Valant, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Valant of 1415 Bayview lan£> was injured while playing football at the Johnsburg Junior high. Tom, an all-around athlete who is involved in track, basketball, and is on the cross country team, fell while playing football and was taken to the McHenry emergency room. Tom has a broken collar bone and will be on the sidelines for the next month while his shoulder is healing. A speedy recovery is wished for the young athlete. BIRTHDAYS This week's birthday greetings go to the following people Ricky Perschke who celebrated Jan. 18; Bill Zawislak, Jan. 21; Robert Perschke, Joe Met- zger, Maureen Neurauter and Sol DePasquale all do their celebrating Jan. 24. Best wishes to you„all for a happy day and many more to come. VEHICLE STICKERS The deadline is approaching fast for displaying current 1983 Village of Sunnyside Vehicle Stickers. To date about one-fourth of the villagers have purchased stickers. The deadline is Feb. 15. Those who do not have the current stickers will be subject to a ticket and fine. For more information call 385-6023. WINTER WEDDING On Saturday, Jan. 8, Barbara Tennyson became the bride of Jim Peterson of McHenry. The ceremony took place in the Greenwood Lutheran church in Greenwood, 111. Standing up as matron of honor was Carol Polka, and best man was John Polka. Following the wedding ceremony, there was a reception for 65 friends and relatives at the home of the bride, 4714 Williams in Whispering Hills. After a brief honeymoon weekend at the Chicago Hyatt Regency the couple returned home. They intend to take an extended honeymoon in the spring since work schedules would not allow for one at this time. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Jim Peterson. ON GOLDEN POND-Robin Irwin, left, Chuck Martin, Jeff Bjorn and Jill Kuhns are shown in a scene from the acclaimed drama, On Golden Pond, which will be present­ ed by the West Campus Drama club Jan. 21,22 and 29 at 8 p.m. and Jan, 30 at 2 p.m. in West campus auditorium. The play deals with an elderly couple, Ethel and Norman Thayer. Norman, a narrow-minded, cynical old man, is preoccupied with dying. Ethel, even at 69, is full of life and vigor. They spend an interesting summer at their cabin on Golden Pond. Complicating the summer is the arrival of their daughter, Chelsea, and her stepson. Billy, the son, is left at the cabin^s Chelsea and her new husband head for Europe. Billy and Norman learn much about life and each other.
