/ PAGE 14 - PLAIN'DEALER - WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 19.1983. WONDER LAKE Anne Sowers Kindergarten Registration Harrison school is beginning to compile a list of children who will be eligible for kindergarten in the fall of 1983. In order for a child to be eligible to attend kindergarten in August, 1983, he or she must have been born before Dec. 1,1978. If you have a child or know of a child in your neigh borhood who might be of kindergarten age, please call Harrison school at 653-2311 and the child's name will be put on the list. An information letter will be mailed in early February to all parents of known kindergarten age children. This letter will give the parents all pertinent information regarding kindergarten registration. Registration for kindergarten will take place March 14, 1983. If parents have any questions, they may call the school office at 653-2311. *650-9549 SADDENED BY DEATH Wonder Lake has lost another of its long-time residents with the passing away of Rita Waldy. For many many years, Mrs. Waldy was actively in volved with Christ the King church, first when it was located irf-Shg., basement of, what is now the American Legion, and later when it was built on its present site. She was secretary to the pastor, who was Father Vanderpool at that time. She also prepared the music for all of the liturgies. After the death of her husband, Ed, her health started to fail, so a year and a half ago, she moved to Oklahoma to be with her nephew Tim. Mrs. Waldy had been a resident of Wonder Lake for 35 years. Even though she no longer is with us, her presence will still be felt, especially at Christ the King church. VENTURE NORTHWARD Charlie Plumlee and Chuck Sowers joined a group of fellow snowmobilers from the Trailblazer Snowmobile club and ventured up to Wisconsin in search of snow. They found an abundance around the Minocqua area and spent Jan. 7, 8, and 9 blazing trails. Even though I can't understand why anyone would like spending time out in the cold, it does sound like they enjoyed themselves. The snow con ditions were good; it wasn't too cold, being in the twenties; and no one had trouble with any machine; so the trip was successful! SPECIAL DAYS Happy birthday to Ed Resetar, who will be celebrating his special day Jan. 20. Jan. 28 will find Dana Diedrich, daughter of Ralph and Pat, blowing out her birthday candles. Also on Jan. 28, Eric deGelder, son of Jerry and Claire, will be celebrating his birthday. COMMUNITY EVENTS Jan. 20 -- Woman's club meeting; 8 p.m.; Nativiity Lutheran church hall. "All I can indicate is that in running a hospital organization, there are many important issues facing a hospital and they are diverse topics," Pesce said. "Even though there are these diverse topics, I don't feel that my resignation is the sense of the board of directors, nor is it my intent to resign. We will attempt to address those concerns." Hospital board Chairman Richard Thompson knew nothing of the medical staff's vote Friday afternoon until contacted by a newspaper. He said that, as a rule, a recom mendation from the medical staff committee would go through the board's executive committee, which, in turn, would make a recom mendation to the full board. "Pesce certainly has the confidence of the board," Thompson said last Friday. Thompson said Monday he had received the report on the medical staff recommendation and had called a meeting of the hospital board's executive committee for noon. None of the medical staff at the hospital will reveal the issues at hand, but one doctor said a lack of com munication has caused a problem between the administrator and the doctors. One spokesman for the medical staff, who requested his name be withheld, said there are several issues, including one in regard to the "injustice" to foreign medical graduates. He said there was a legal quorum at Friday's regular medicaL staff meeting, where more than '30 doctors were present. Practitioners from throughout the county participated in the meeting, a doctor said. Physicians from ' Woodstock, McHenry, Crystal Lake, Harvard and Wonder Lake attended the medical staff meeting. Pesce said Monday there are "several issues to be addressed in full depth" and he hopes they will be resolved. He said the key points will be ad dressed at a later date and he hopes publication of those issues will be held off. The Alamo gave birth to that great American favorite, the Sloppy Joe.
