Those are the days of the Mc- Cullom Lake conservation club's annual ice fishing derby. You can xftteck in at the McCullom Lake Beach House beginning at 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. both days. The Beach Gals will provide food and drinks and prizes will be given for several categories. This is one event that many people participate in and all of you are urged to come out for a fun time. TROOP 320 NEWS We haven't heard from Girl Scout Troop 320 for some time because they were kept busy making surprise presents for their parents. The girls presented Dad with a decorated coffee tin filled with rice chex mix they made and Mom received a lovely clothespin reindeer to use for a holiday decoration. About one-half the troop made the trip to Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry to see Christmas Around the World. They made "friendship pins" at last week's meeting to give to each other and now they are very busy getting ready for "Nickel Day". Nickel l5ay takes place Feb. 19, at the Johnsburg school from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. This year each troop picked a state and will make crafts and food items representing that state. Troop 320 chose the state of Kansas and their theme will be the Wizard of Oz. RENEW VOWS Jan. 4 was the date of Norb and Aggie Lewakowski's twenty-fifth wedding anniversary and they did something very special to celebrate the event. On Saturday, Jan. -8,' they walked down the aisle of St. Patrick's church to renew their wedding vows. Their sons Robert, Dan, Ken and Paul stood at the front of tb&e&irch, two on each side of their parents gyring the ceremony. One hundred and twiwy-" five friends and family members were at the church and everyone went tc the Johnsburg community house for a good old Polish wedding reception that evening. The food and drinks were plentiful and the band played everyone's favorites. NEW BABY - We have another baby girl in the neighborhood with the birth of Laura Michelle Gently on Dec. 31. The 6 lb., 3 oz., infant arrived at McHenry hospital and the proud parents are David ariti Mille Gende. Beekeepers Meet The January meeting of the Nor thern Illinois Beekepers' association will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at the McHenry County Farp* Bureau building, 11909 McConnell road, Woodstock. The program will consist of discussion of topical subjects, highlighted by a talk on Winter Hive Management by commercial beekeeper, Phil May, followed by a question and answer period.
